Bunbury is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, approximately 175 kilometres (109 mi) south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's third most populous city after Perth and Mandurah, with a population of approximately 75,000.

Karratha is a city in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, adjoining the port of Dampier. It was established in 1968 to accommodate the processing and exportation workforce of the Hamersley Iron mining company and, in the 1980s, the petroleum and liquefied natural gas operations of the North West Shelf Venture. As of the 2021 census, Karratha had an urban population of 17,013. The city's name comes from the cattle station of the same name, which derives from a word in a local Aboriginal language meaning "good country" or "soft earth". The city is the seat of government of the City of Karratha, a local government area covering the surrounding region.

Fitzroy Crossing is a small town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, 400 kilometres (250 mi) east of Broome and 300 kilometres (190 mi) west of Halls Creek. The 549 kHz signal is one of the most powerful in Australia, with the coverage map on the ABC's reception website showing that the station can be heard in Northern Victoria and South Western Queensland during normal daytime conditions.

Copies of the World Radio TV Handbook have identified 1584 kHz as a local frequency, akin to the Class C radio stations in North America which are limited to 1kW.
Triple M Southwest is an adult contemporary-formatted commercial radio station, owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo. Based in Bunbury, Western Australia, it covers the south west of the state via a number of high-powered AM stations. It was previously known as RadioWest before a network wide rebranding to Triple M in late 2016.
