Aaron Kipkirui Cheruiyot, MGH( born 23 February 1986) is a Kenyan politician. He was elected as senator for Kericho County succeeding Charles Keter who had resigned to take up a cabinet portfolio. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] He was elected majority leader of the senate in 2022. [6]

Early years and education

Aaron Cheruiyot was born in 1986. He grew up in Kericho County. He undertook his primary and secondary education at Unity Primary school and Kericho High School respectively, before proceeding to Moi University in Eldoret where he acquired a BA degree specialising in Language and Literary studies. In 2010 he joined the Kenya Institute of Management and acquired a Diploma in Marketing. [3]

Personal life

Cheruiyot is married to his longtime girlfriend Lenah. The couple have a daughter Maria. [7]

Cheruiyot is a supporter of English Premier League club Arsenal. [8]

Abraham Kithure Kindiki is a Kenyan politician and lawyer who is currently serving as the 3rd deputy President of Kenya since 1 November 2024. He assumed this office following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua. Before becoming Deputy President, he served as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior from 22 October 2022 to 31 October 2024 under President William Ruto, and he represented Tharaka-Nithi County in the Senate of Kenya from 2013 until 2022. Kenya Kwanza is a Kenyan political alliance currently headed by William Ruto. The political coalition currently holds the speakership position in both the National Assembly and Senate of Kenya. It was formed in the period leading up to the 2022 Kenyan general election, originally consisting of three parties: the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Amani National Congress and FORD–Kenya. By 8 April 2022, several more political parties had joined the alliance, bringing the total number of constituent parties to 12. On 18 August 2022, a number of politicians from the United Democratic Movement announced they would be joining the alliance.

The 13th Parliament of Kenya was elected in the 2022 Kenyan general election.
