The 2023 Sokoto State gubernatorial election will take place in early 2023,to elect the Governor of Sokoto State. Incumbent PDP Governor Aminu Tambuwal is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term. The primaries will be scheduled for late 2022 or early 2023.
The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Sokoto State was held on February 23,2019,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Sokoto State. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko representing Sokoto North,Shehu Abubakar Tambuwal representing Sokoto South and Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir representing Sokoto East all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress. But the Court of Appeal Sokoto Division on 30 October 2019 sacked Shehu Abubakar Tambuwal representing Sokoto South on the platform of All Progressives Congress. Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party replaced the sacked senator.
Hadiza Dawaiya Shagari,also known as Hadiza Shehu Shagari was a Nigerian public figure,former First Lady of Nigeria from 1979 to 1983,and widow of Shehu Shagari. Together with Shehu Shagari's other two wives,Hadiza Shagari served as First Lady of Nigeria when her husband assumed the presidency in October 1979.
The Shehu Shagari College of Education is a state government higher education institution located in Sokoto,Sokoto State,Nigeria. It is affiliated to Ahmadu Bello University and Usmanu Danfodiyo University for its degree programmes. The current Provost is Wadata Hakimi.
The 2019 Sokoto State House of Assembly election was held on March 9,2019,to elect members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 30 seats were up for election in the Sokoto State House of Assembly.
