Abraham Damar Grahita (born 8 October 1995) is an Indonesian professional basketball player that plays for Satria Muda Pertamina of the Indonesian Basketball League. Grahita attended Esa Unggul University where he was a member of their basketball team from 2013 to 2018. Grahita plays as a combo-guard in his basketball team. He also became the first ever Indonesian professional basketball player to receive his own signature shoes with the release of Ardilles x DBL, AD1. AD2 was released on 1 July 2022 and its represent the SeaGames Gold Medal.[ citation needed ]

Early career

Grahita was born in Pangkal Pinang, the capital and largest city of Bangka Belitung Islands located at the southeastern coasts of the island of Sumatra. He excelled at the sport of basketball throughout his high school years. However, he did not receive much exposure due to living at the rural area of Indonesia. After much supports and help from his friends, coach and family, Grahita decided to venture to Jakarta to find better competition and to pursue a career in basketball. His coach eventually managed to recommend Grahita to Stadium Jakarta, a professional team that participated in Indonesia's professional basketball league, IBL. Through Stadium, Grahita was given a scholarship to study at Esa Unggul University and also joined the school's basketball team where he played until turning professional in 2015. During this time, he also practiced with Stadium and even played in one of the pre-season game where he scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.[ citation needed ]

He played in a variety of professional places, which includes: Stadium Jakarta (2015–16), Stapac Jakarta (2016–2019), Indonesia Patriots (2020), Prawira Bandung (2021–present). He wasn't able to be part of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers [1]

The 2017–18 Indonesian Basketball League is the third season of the Starting5 as a promoter of the league. The second foreign player draft was held on October 2, 2017. The regular season will begin on December 8, 2017 and end on February 25, 2018. The All-Star break will be on January 7, 2018 and will be held in Jakarta.

The 2018–19 Indonesian Basketball League is the fourth season of the Starting5 as a promoter of the league. The regular season began on 30 November 2018 until 17 February 2019, with the Playoffs starting on 1 until 23 March 2019. The Pre-Season was held on 14 until 21 October 2018.

The 2020 Indonesian Basketball League was the fifth season since the re-branding by Starting5. The regular season began on 10 January 2020 and was suspended on 13 March until 23 June 2020, then both remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta (UNY) and Malang, as well as the post season in Jakarta has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The season originally resumed and concluded directly with the playoffs on 13 until 27 October 2020 at Mahaka Square, Jakarta. Originally, the playoffs were scheduled to begin on 27 March until 12 April 2020, and end with the Finals in 17 and 18 or 19 April 2020. The All-Star game was played on 9 February 2020, at the GOR UNY, Yogyakarta, and was won by IBL All-Stars, 157–155. There was no official Pre-Season held for this season, however 2019 Indonesia President's Cup that was held from 20 November to 24 November 2019 in Solo, Indonesia was treated as the pre-season.

The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region began in November 2021 and concluded in February 2023. The process determined the six teams that would join the automatically qualified co-hosts the Philippines and Japan at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The 2021 Indonesian Basketball League was the sixth season since the re-branding by Starting5. The regular season began on 10 March 2021 and was ended with the Finals in June 2021. In this season there would be no official preseason tournament and all-star games, while throughout the season would be played inside a bubble in Bogor and Jakarta due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, every player, staff, and official must follow the strict health protocols implemented by the organizers.

The 2022 Indonesian Basketball League was the seventh season since the re-branding by Starting5. After successfully implemented the "bubble" system in last year's season, IBL decided to return into the Series format with the supporters are returning into stadium. The season would be held with implementing strict health protocols that recommended by the government. The regular season began on 15 January 2022 and was suspended on 2 February 2022 until 3 March 2022, then the remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Denpasar, as well as the post season in Bandung has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The series return again to "bubble" after many players get Covid-19.
