Pelita Jaya defeated Satria Muda Pertamina 3–1 in the final. This accomplishment was noteworthy as some of the team's best players had recently departed. These players included Andi Batam, Dimas Aryo Dewanto, and Kelly Purwanto. [1]

The 2017–18 Indonesian Basketball League is the third season of the Starting5 as a promoter of the league. The second foreign player draft was held on October 2, 2017. The regular season will begin on December 8, 2017 and end on February 25, 2018. The All-Star break will be on January 7, 2018 and will be held in Jakarta.

Daniel Timothy Wenas is an Indonesian professional basketball player for the Borneo Hornbills of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). He mainly plays both guard positions and on occasion, also plays the small forward position.

The 2020 Indonesian Basketball League was the fifth season since the re-branding by Starting5. The regular season began on 10 January 2020 and was suspended from 13 March until 23 June 2020, then both remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta (UNY) and Malang, as well as the post season in Jakarta have been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The season originally resumed and concluded directly with the playoffs from 13 until 27 October 2020 at Mahaka Square, Jakarta. Originally, the playoffs were scheduled to begin on 27 March until 12 April 2020, and end with the Finals in 17 and 18 or 19 April 2020. The All-Star game was played on 9 February 2020, at the GOR UNY, Yogyakarta, and was won by IBL All-Stars, 157–155. There was no official Pre-Season held for this season, however 2019 Indonesia President's Cup that was held from 20 November to 24 November 2019 in Solo, Indonesia was treated as the pre-season.

The 2021 Indonesian Basketball League was the sixth season since the re-branding by Starting5. The regular season began on 10 March 2021 and was ended with the Finals in June 2021. In this season there would be no official preseason tournament and all-star games, while throughout the season would be played inside a bubble in Bogor and Jakarta due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, every player, staff, and official must follow the strict health protocols implemented by the organizers.

The 2022 Indonesian Basketball League was the seventh season since the re-branding by Starting5. After successfully implemented the "bubble" system in last year's season, IBL decided to return into the Series format with the supporters are returning into stadium. The season would be held with implementing strict health protocols that recommended by the government. The regular season began on 15 January 2022 and was suspended on 2 February 2022 until 3 March 2022, then the remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Denpasar, as well as the post season in Bandung has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The series return again to "bubble" after many players get Covid-19.

Johannis "Ahang" Winar is an Indonesian basketball coach for the Pelita Jaya Bakrie of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL), the Indonesia national team and was also a former player.

The 2023 Indonesian Basketball League is the eighth season of Indonesian top domestic basketball league since the re-branding by Starting5. This season marked the 20th Anniversary of the IBL indonesia since its establishment in 2003.
