T10 League or Abu Dhabi T10 is a Ten10 cricket league in the United Arab Emirates launched and owned by T Ten Sports Management. The league is approved by the Emirates Cricket Board. Matches are 10-overs-a-side and the duration of each match is approximately 90 minutes. The tournament is a round-robin format followed by Eliminators and the Final. The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially sanctioned the league in 2018 as a semi-professional cricket tournament. [1]

Contents

The league has seen significant year-on-year growth in viewership and economic value, with the 2021-2022 edition of the tournament having reached 342 million viewers through television and digital streaming compared to roughly 37 million viewers in the 2017 edition, [2] and the league's economic impact now valued at US$621.2 million. [3] The next edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league will take place at the Shiekh Zayed Cricket Stadium in November this year.

History

The league was founded by Shaji Ul Mulk, the chairman of T10 League. [4] [5]

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium is in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. It holds the record for being the venue that hosted the highest number of international matches, 294 matches, up to March 17 2024. It was originally constructed in the early 1980s and has been much improved over the years. The stadium hosted its first international matches in April 1984, in the Asia Cup.

2017 Abu Dhabi T10 was the inaugural season of the Abu Dhabi T10. The matches had a 10-over-a-side format with a time duration of 90 minutes. The tournament was played over four days, with a round robin followed by semifinals and the final. It was played from 14–17 December at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

T10 cricket or Ten10 cricket is a short form of cricket. Two teams play a single innings, which is restricted to a maximum of ten overs per side, with the game lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Daniel Richard Mousley is an English cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 13 July 2019, for Warwickshire in the 2019 County Championship. In October 2019, he was named in the England under-19 cricket team's squad for a 50-over tri-series in the Caribbean. In December 2019, he was named in England's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was the leading run-scorer for England in the tournament, with 241 runs in six matches. He made his Twenty20 debut on 2 September 2020, for the Birmingham Bears in the 2020 T20 Blast.

2021 Abu Dhabi T10 was the fourth season of the Abu Dhabi T10. The matches had a 10-over-a-side format with a time duration of 90 minutes. The tournament was played as a round robin followed by semifinals and the final. It was originally scheduled to be played from 19 to 28 November 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. The tournament started from 28 January with final held on 6 February 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021–22 Abu Dhabi T10 was the fifth season of the cricket league Abu Dhabi T10. The matches had a 10-over-a-side format with a time duration of 90 minutes. The tournament was played from 19 November to 4 December 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. A new team called The Chennai Braves was added in place of Maratha Arabians, Qalandars and Pune Devils.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Zim Afro T10</span> Cricket tournament

Zim Afro T10 is a T10 cricket league in Zimbabwe, with teams from Zimbabwe and South Africa. The league is owned by T Ten Sports Management and was launched in 2023 in association with Zimbabwe Cricket. The tournament uses a double round-robin followed by a series of playoff matches. The inaugural edition of the tournament was played in July 2023.

2023 Zim Afro T10 was the inaugural season of the Zim Afro T10. The tournament was played from 20 to 29 July at the Harare Sports Club. In the final, Durban Qalandars defeated Joburg Buffaloes by eight wickets to win the inaugural title.

The US Masters T10 League is a T10 cricket league in the United States with teams featuring retired international cricketers, launched and owned by T Ten Sports Management. The inaugural season took place in August 2023.
