The name Actinophytocola derives from the Greek noun actis or actinos, a ray, beam; Greek noun phyton, plant; Latin masculine gender suff. -cola (from Latin noun incola), a dweller, inhabitant; Neo-Latin masculine gender noun Actinophytocola, actinobacterial dweller inside a plant. [2]
