History

The Adaikalamatha College (AMC) is the first Self Financing college in Thanjavur district. The college was started in the year 1988 by A.Arunachalam, the Ist Registrar of Bharathidasan University and former Registrar of Madras Institute of Technology.

Nagapattinam Place in Tamil Nadu, India

Nagapattinam is a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Nagapattinam District. The town came to prominence during the period of Medieval Cholas and served as their important port for commerce and east-bound naval expeditions. Nagapattinam is administered by a Selection-grade municipality covering an area of 17.92 km2 (6.92 sq mi) and had a population of 102,905 as of 2011.

It is one of the oldest libraries in Asia established during 16th century by Nayakas of Thanjavur and has on display a rare collection of Palm leaf manuscripts and paper written in Tamil and Sanskrit and a few other languages indigenous to India. The collection comprises well over 49,000 volumes, though only a tiny fraction of these are on display. The library has a complete catalog of holdings, which is being made available online. Some rare holdings can be viewed on site by prior arrangement.

National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli Public engineering institution in India

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, is a public technical and research university near the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1964, it is one of India's oldest technical universities and is located in a campus of 800 acres (3.24 km²). The university is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007 and is one of the members of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) system.
