Adelanto High School is a comprehensive high school of the Victor Valley Union High School District, in Adelanto, California, in the Inland Empire region.
The mascot of the athletic teams is the Saints. [2]
It was the first high school to be built in Adelanto; previously students attended Silverado High School and Victor Valley High School in Victorville. [3] By 2008 area residents wanted a local high school, and the Victorville high schools were above capacity. [4] In November of that year, [3] the majority of the citizens in Adelanto voted in favor of building the school, [4] by approving a $500 million bond. [3] The name of an area youth football league, the Saints, became the high school's mascot. [2] The State of California funded the acquisition of the land, and the bond funded the design of the campus and its construction; the latter two had a cost of $120 million. [3]
The opening was originally scheduled for August 2012; delays revised the opening times to January 2013 and August 2013. Area residents complained that the VVUSD board was uninterested in having the school open. [4] According to the district, it lacked money to open the campus even though the construction was just about finished in 2012. Its dedication was in April 2014, and ultimately it was to open on August 16, 2014, with an expected initial enrollment of 1,600-1,800 students. [2] The school, which enrolled grades 9-11 in its first year, had 1,137 enrolled students at that time. Silverado High in Victorville was to be relieved upon Adelanto High's opening. [5]
The 58-acre (23 ha) campus includes a 322,000-square-foot (29,900 m2), 110-classroom school building with a planned capacity of about 3,600 students. The principal architect was Mark Graham of WLC Architects. According to Brooke Self of the Victorville Daily Press , it was one of the largest campuses in the State of California. [2]
The campus was to include a 3,500-seat stadium; the sporting field uses synthetic material, and the track uses a special rubber so it may be used all year. [3] In addition the school has a three-court gymnasium for basketball, [2] eight basketball courts located outdoors, [3] a 50 metres (160 ft) Olympic-size swimming pool, classrooms for health courses, and weight, wrestling, and dance rooms, [2] and eight tennis courts, [3] with six locker rooms supporting the athletes and other students. [2]
Other facilities include automotive class facilities, a career center, band rooms, choir rooms, a performing arts and black box drama center with a capacity of 525 people, a media center, five computer labs, culinary courses classrooms, and technology classrooms. The school also has a dedicated career center. [2]

Juanita High School is a high school in Kirkland, Washington, administered by Lake Washington School District. It was opened on September 4, 1971, as a result of a campaign driven by an education theory known as the "Juanita Concept", developed by John Strauss, who became the school's first principal. The school was unable to maintain the concept for long, primarily because of the passing of the "Basic Education Law" in the mid-1970s, resulting in the school later remodeling into a traditional format. The mascot chosen was the "rebel", to represent the rebellious nature of the teaching concept and the upcoming Bicentennial. Enfield High School is a secondary school established in 1893 in Enfield, Connecticut. The Enfield High School campus is located in the Connecticut River Valley, on Enfield Street in Enfield's Historical District. The school has an enrollment of approximately 1400 students. The present facility was erected in 1964 on Enfield Street. The facility underwent a $6.2 million renovation and library addition completed in 2005, and a $103 million "as-new" renovation and significant expansion completed in 2017. In May 2010, Enfield High School and Enrico Fermi High School underwent a consolidation process as part of the restructuring and improvement plan of Enfield Public Schools. Enfield High School operates as the town's sole high school, which houses both students from Enfield High School and the previous Enrico Fermi High School, which closed its doors in 2016.

Adelanto Converter Station in Adelanto, California, is the southern terminus of the 2,400 MW Path 27 Utah–California high voltage DC power (HVDC) transmission line. The station contains redundant thyristor-based HVDC converters rated for 1,200 MW continuous or 1,600 MW short term overload. The 300-acre (120 ha) station was completed in July, 1986 at a cost of US$131 million. The northern terminus of Path 27 is fossil fueled Intermountain Power Plant in Utah.
