Aeginura is a genus of hydrozoans in the family Aeginidae.
There are two recognized species in the genus Aeginura: [1]
Helix is a genus of large, air-breathing land snails native to Europe and the Mediterranean region. They are the type genus of the family Helicidae, and are among the first animal genera described by Carl Linnaeus. Members of the genus first appeared during the Oligocene. Like most land snails, Helix species are hermaphroditic, and like other helicids, a courting pair will impale each other with hormone-rich love darts prior to exchanging sperm. Well-known species include Helix pomatia and Helix lucorum. Cornu aspersum – another well-known helicid – was originally described as a member of Helix, but the prevailing classification places it as the sole member of the sister genus Cornu.
Amphitretidae is a family of mesopelagic octopods which contains three subfamilies, formerly classified as families in their own right. It is classified in the superfamily Octopodoidea. Species in the family Amphipetridae are characterised by having a single row of suckers on each arm, a gelatinous body and non hemispherical eyes.
Octopus is the largest genus of octopuses, comprising more than 100 species. These species are widespread throughout the world's oceans. Many species formerly placed in the genus Octopus are now assigned to other genera within the family Octopodidae.
Idioteuthis is a genus of whip-lash squid containing at least one species. Some teuthologists consider it synonymous with Mastigoteuthis, but genetics have confirmed the placement of this genus as distinct from all other genera in this family. The placement of Idioteuthis within the Mastigoteuthidae remains uncertain.
Mastigoteuthis is a genus of whip-lash squid containing at least seven valid species. Some teuthologists consider Idioteuthis synonymous with this taxon.
Candidula is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Geomitridae, . the hairy snails and their allies.
Omphalotropis is a genus of minute salt marsh snails with an operculum, terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Assimineidae.
Solmissus, or dinner plate jellyfish, is a genus of hydrozoans. Its species are unique among cnidarians in that they actively hunt for prey as opposed to passively waiting for plankton to pass by. They are found in the deep waters of Monterey Bay, California. They are most likely to be found in the deep sea, mid water. They grow to be 20 cm (7.9 in) in diameter. These hydrozoans feed on gelatinous zooplankton, including salps and doliolids, ctenophores, jellyfish, and copepods.. However, Solmissus may be limited to feeding on soft-bodied prey by the type of nematocysts on their tentacles (Mills).
Onchidorididae are a taxonomic family of sea slugs, dorid nudibranchs, marine gastropod molluscs in the superfamily Onchidoridoidea.
Acanthodoris is a genus of sea slugs, dorid nudibranchs, shell-less marine gastropod mollusks in the family Onchidorididae. The genus is believed to have originated in the Atlantic Ocean in the Cretaceous period and spread to the Pacific Ocean. The relationships of Acanthodoris to the other genera in the family Onchidorididae were evaluated by molecular phylogeny in 2015.
Narcomedusae is an order of hydrozoans in the subclass Trachylinae. Members of this order do not normally have a polyp stage. The medusa has a dome-shaped bell with thin sides. The tentacles are attached above the lobed margin of the bell with usually a gastric pouch above each. There are no bulbs on the tentacles and no radial canals. Narcomedusans are mostly inhabitants of the open sea and deep waters. They can be found in the Mediterranean in large numbers.
Clathurella is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Clathurellidae.
Pterygia is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Mitroidea.
Ennea is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Streptaxidae.
Aeginidae is a family of hydrozoans in the order Narcomedusae. The family comprises 6 genera and 8 species.
Limnomedusae is an order of hydrozoans.
Antalis is a genus of tusk shells, marine scaphopod mollusks.
Xeroleuca is a genus of air-breathing land snails, a pulmonate gastropod in the subfamily Helicellinae of the family Geomitridae, the typical snails.
Capellinia is a genus of sea slugs, specifically of aeolid nudibranchs.
