Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (formerly known as Operation Tulong Bayan) is the corporate social responsibility organization of TV5 Network Inc. Offices are located at the TV5 Media Center, Reliance cor. Sheridan Sts., Mandaluyong.
ABC Development Corporation's (now TV5 Network, Inc.) social responsibility began after the acquisition of the conglomerate to businessman Antonio "Tonyboy" Cojuangco, Jr. in 2004. Cojuangco then organizes its program through the Corporate Affairs department named as Operation Tulong Bayan. [1] However, the project came to a hiatus after the massive layoff of the conglomerate's employees in 2007.
When ABC was acquired in turn by PLDT's MediaQuest Holdings from the joint consortium led by the Cojuangco group and Malaysian media conglomerate Media Prima Berhad, TV5 organizes its socio-profit organizations named as Alagang Kapatid Foundation, named after TV5's health program with a same name. In coordination with its affiliates under the MVP Group of Companies it was able to initiate relief operations and livelihood programs to some impoverished towns in the country.
Alagang Kapatid Foundation kept is synergies with these affiliates in relief operations, especially when TV5 organizes two telethons in the past two years namely: The Tulong Kapatid telethon of December 10, 2012, when they are able to collect P100 million in 6 hours (18:00 - 24:00 PST) to help the victims of Supertyphoon Pablo (Bopha); and a special live episode of now-defunct The Mega and the Songwriter, entitled Gabi ng Kanta At Biyaya aired on November 10, 2013. This time, they have collected P30 million for the victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda (Haiyan). [2] [3]
Rescue5 is a joint project of Alagang Kapatid Foundation and News5. It is an emergency response unit that has its own mobile units carrying team members trained in disaster and accident situations. It also embarks on community training programs to prepare citizens for emergencies. Through TV5's various platforms. Rescue 5's various initiatives and mandates are further implemented, leveraging the network's ability to educate and spread information to enhance its work and impact on the ground, fulfilling News5's slogan: Higit sa Balita, Impormasyon at Pangyayari, Aksyon! (More than News, Information and Happenings, Action!). Rescue5 has its own hotline and a program on TV5 aired in 2013. Due to its commitment, Rescue5 have given numerous Philippine Quill Awards of excellence and also a rank of reserve unit in the Philippine Air Force. [4] [5] [6]
TV5 is a Philippine free-to-air major television and radio network based in Mandaluyong, with alternate studios located in Novaliches, Quezon City. It is the flagship property of TV5 Network, Inc., which is owned by MediaQuest Holdings, the multimedia arm of telecommunications conglomerate PLDT. TV5 is commonly referred to as "The 'Kapatid' Network", using the Filipino term for "sibling", a branding introduced in 2010.

Aksyon (transl. Action) was a Philippine television news broadcasting show aired on TV5. Originally anchored by Paolo Bediones, Cheryl Cosim and Erwin Tulfo, it premiered on April 5, 2010, on the network's evening line up replacing TEN: The Evening News. The show concluded on March 13, 2020. Luchi Cruz-Valdes and Ed Lingao served as the final anchors. It was replaced by Frontline Pilipinas in its timeslot.
Sapul sa Singko, formerly Sapul was TV5’s daily morning show. The two-hour program premiered on April 5, 2010, as Sapul and due to its widespread success and viewership, it was expanded to a three-hour program on October 25, 2010, and rebranded as Sapul sa Singko. On February 6, 2012, the show was succeeded by Good Morning Club, which focused more on the homemaker and professional female viewers.
Alagang Kapatid is TV5's first ever medical show. The show is hosted by Cheryl Cosim, formerly the host of Salamat Dok on ABS-CBN. The show first aired from September 11, 2010, to August 5, 2012, and then returned to the air on November 8, 2015. The show concluded on October 17, 2020.
MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. is a Philippine media company based in Mandaluyong. It is involved in radio and television broadcasting, as well as direct-to-home satellite services and print media. Though an affiliate of telecommunications company PLDT, MediaQuest is owned by the former's Beneficial Trust Fund, a retirement pension plan funded through its Philippine Depository Receipts. PLDT does not directly own any media property as the current 1987 Constitution states that media companies should be 100% owned by Filipinos and the company's major shareholders include foreign entities such as First Pacific, and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone.
Public Atorni: Asunto o Areglo is a Philippine television court show broadcast by TV5 and AksyonTV. The small claims court cases are heard, through Mediation. Its format is similar to US television court shows such as Judge Judy and The People's Court; however, instead of a former judge, the chief of the Philippines' Public Attorney's Office is the mediator. It aired on TV5 from September 9, 2010 to May 11, 2012, and was replaced by Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid. The show moved to AksyonTV from May 28, 2012 to 2014. It is presented by MJ Marfori while the cases are mediated by Public Attorney's Office chief, Atty. Persida Rueda-Acosta.
Aksyon TV was a Philippine free-to-air television network. It was a joint venture of Nation Broadcasting Corporation and TV5 Network, Inc., both under PLDT media arm MediaQuest Holdings. Its programs were primarily produced by TV5's divisions News5 and ESPN5. AksyonTV formerly broadcasts terrestrially through DWNB-TV in Metro Manila, as well as on UHF channel 29 in Cebu, Davao and other relay stations, and on a digital subchannel via channel 5.2 in Metro Manila. It occupies the frequency previously used by MTV Philippines, a subsidiary of MTV Networks Asia Pacific from 2001 until 2006.
