The Algeria national handball team is the national handball team of Algeria and is controlled by the Algerian Handball Federation.
Algeria became a great handball country from the 1970s when they were gold medalists twice in the African Games in 1973 and in 1978. In the beginning of the 1980s, the domination of Algeria in the African handball started when it won five consecutive African titles from 1981 to 1989. Algeria had participated in the World Handball Championship for 14 times, in the Olympic Gamess for 4 times.
Aziz Derouaz, the coach of Algeria team in the 1980s is the man who invented the Offensive-Defense style and practiced it for the first time in the 1982 World Handball Championship. [1]
Many great players have made history of the Algerian handball such as Abdelkrim Bendjemil, Omar Azeb, Brahim Boudrali, Abdelkrim Hammiche, Mustapha Doballah, Abdeslam Benmaghsoula, Sofiane Elimam, Rédouane Aouachria, Djaffar Belhoucine, Mahmoud Bouanik, Abdeldjalil Bouanani, Salim Nedjel and many others.

Anja Andersen is a former Danish team handball player and current coach. She is an Olympic champion, World champion and two times European champion. In 1997, she was named IHF World Player of the Year. She is widely regarded as one of the best female handball players of all time.

Anders Eggert Magnussen is a Danish handball player currently playing for Skjern Håndbold. He has previously played in Denmark for GOG and german side SG Flensburg-Handewitt. He was part of SG Flensburg-Handewitt team that won the 2013–14 EHF Champions League trophy. In his 11 years with SG Flensburg-Handewitt he played in 461 matches and scored 2531 times.
Hussain Zaki Said is an Egyptian handball player who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics, in the 2004 Summer Olympics, and in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The first championship win for the Al Ahly team in the Egyptian Handball League was in 1968 and 1969. The Al Ahly Handball Club has won the most titles in the league, 23 of which were gold medals. They are five times Men's National Champions, seven times Men's Oceania Champions and qualified for seven IHF Super Globe competitions. The men's team has won the State Championship eleven times. The women's team has also won the State Championship nine times.
Mircea Costache II was a Romanian handball player and coach who played as a pivot for Dinamo București and for the national team. He scored the winning goal in the 1961 World Championship final.
