The novel initially tells the life story of Jenette Vasquez long before the doomed mission to Hadley’s Hope, from joining a street gang, followed by prison, joining the Colonial Marines, and giving up her twin children Leticia and Ramón to be raised by her sister, leading into the events of Alien , before cutting decades later to the Vasquez twins (her children) as they respectively join the military and Weyland-Yutani, exploring their independent investigations into their mother's death leading the two to a world soon-to-be-ravaged by Xenomorphs. The novel was released in paperback and e-book format on October 25, 2022, in the United States and United Kingdom through Titan Books.
