Anand Aravindakshan (born 1989) is an Indian playback singer, and title winner of Airtel Super Singer 5, [1] a television-based reality singing competition in Tamil televised on Vijay TV. [2]
Anand did his school education from Chennai, and while in high school at Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School in Chennai, [3] Anand started representing his school at cultural events and competition. After his graduation in commerce at Vivekananda College in Chennai, Anand completed a course in sound engineering from Soundtech Media School of Sound Engineering and Recording in Chennai [4] and his MBA from Symbiosis College in the same city. During this period Anand also took part in about four reality shows, where he won two shows and was announced first runner-up in the other two.[ citation needed ] He was the first runner up in the 2007 edition of Gandharva Sangeetham, a reality music show telecast by Kairali channel and in the 2008 edition of Athiradi Singer, a reality music show telecast by Sun TV. He was the title winner of the 2010 edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa challenge, a reality music show telecast by Zee Tamil.[ citation needed ] However, his latest reality show win in 2016 stirred up a lot of discussion and brought Anand to the limelight. This show was the fifth season of Airtel Super Singer, a television-based reality singing competition in Tamil televised on Vijay TV, and Anand was the title winner of this edition. [6] With playback singers such as Srinivas, Unnikrishnan, Usha Uthup, and Mano judging the show, Anand was part of the top 30 contestants who were selected to participate in the various rounds. He was eliminated in the later rounds of the show but he made a comeback to the show as a wild card candidate. He was part of the top 5 in the grand finale. [3] He was eventually announced the winner in the grand finale of the season, but this victory instantly fuelled controversial social media discussions questioning this decision, mentioning that Anand was already a playback singer. Anand later clarified his stand, [7] and Vijay TV released a statement confirming that this rule of rejecting playback singers as candidates was not applicable for the fifth season since the rule was removed two years earlier for the Super Singer Senior category, they clarified that Anand's victory was valid. [8]
In addition to being a playback singer, Anand has also performed on stage for concerts and live events. [9] An Acapella piece that he released on YouTube in 2016 went viral, receiving more than 300 thousand views. [10] [11] In 2017, Anand released a YouTube dedication to Tamil singer Malaysia Vasudevan in 2017, which had almost 30,000 views. [12] Another single released by him in 2016 on YouTube also had about 34000 views. [13] Anand has also sung for some jingles, including a textile ad [14] and New TVS Victor. [15] Another album titled "Indha Kadhal Podhum" with Soundarya Bala Nandakumar, composed by Shravan – Jeshwanth, also gathered 48000 views on YouTube. [16]
In December 2017, Anand married Paromita Banerjee, his high school sweetheart, in a Bengali-style wedding. [17]

Festember is a cultural festival organised at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT). It is a 4-day event held annually in the third week of September. Airtel Super Singer Junior – Ithu Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal – is a reality TV show since February 2007 hosted by Vijay TV, a popular Tamil channel of the Star Network, and sponsored by Bharti Airtel. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–15. This is the junior version of the Airtel Super Singer show, which premiered on 28 April 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition. The tenth season is set to launch on 16th November 2024.

Nippon Paint Super Singer 6 was a 2018 Indian Tamil language Reality singing competition show, the sixth season of the Super Singer show, which aired on Star Vijay on every Saturday and Sunday at 19:00 (IST) starting from 21 January 2018 until 15 July 2018. Nippon Paint sponsored the season after Airtel discontinued its sponsoring. The show was hosted by Makapa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. The Judges of the show were the popular playback singers Anuradha Sriram, P. Unnikrishnan, Benny Dayal and Shweta Mohan. The Grand finale was held on 15 July 2018 at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai and was a live telecast through Star Vijay. Golden voice Rakshitha, Sreekanth, Shakthi, Anirudh, Malavika and Senthil Ganesh were the final 6 contestants. Folk singer Senthil Ganesh emerged as the title winner of the show who also got a chance to sing in A.R. Rahman's music and the versatile singer Golden voice of super singer 6 Rakshitha emerged as first runner up with 2.5 million and a title golden voice of the season and Sreekanth impressed A. R. Rahman sir by his set final performance and got a chance to sing in his music. Malavika emerged as 2nd runners up with cash price of 300,000.

Kabali is the soundtrack album, composed by Santhosh Narayanan for the 2016 Indian Tamil-language action crime film of the same name written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, starring Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte and Winston Chao. The soundtrack album featuring five songs with lyrics written by Kabilan, Vivek, Umadevi and Arunraja Kamaraj was released on 12 June 2016, at Chennai and was also released in Telugu, Hindi and Malay languages. Santhosh Narayanan won the Best Music Director Award at the 2017 Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards. Initially, he was nominated for the Best Music Director – Tamil award at the 2017 Filmfare Awards South, along with Arunraja Kamaraj, for Best Lyricist – Tamil, Best Male Playback Singer – Tamil for the song "Neruppu Da". However, Shweta Mohan won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Tamil for "Maya Nadhi".

"Verithanam" (transl. Frenzy) is an Indian Tamil-language song from the 2019 sports action film Bigil directed by Atlee. Composed by A. R. Rahman, the song featured lyrics written by Vivek and sung by actor Vijay, who also played the protagonist in the film. It is the first song Vijay has recorded for Rahman. The song was released by Sony Music India on 1 September 2019, and its video version was unveiled on 1 November.
