Andrea Cambiaso (born 20 February 2000) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a full-back or wing-back for Serie A club Juventus and the Italy national team.

Club career

Genoa

Cambiaso is a product of Genoa youth teams. He spent 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons on loan to Serie D clubs Albissola and Savona respectively. [1] He helped Albissola achieve promotion to Serie C.[ citation needed ]

Cambiaso returned to Genoa for the 2021–22 season, scoring his first goal in Serie A on 29 August 2021 in a 2–1 home defeat against Napoli. [2]

Loan moves to Alessandria and Empoli

On 2 August 2019, Cambiaso joined Serie C club Alessandria on loan. [3] He made his professional Serie C debut for Alessandria on 25 August 2019 in the opening game against Gozzano, starting the game and playing the whole match. [4] Cambiaso suffered an ACL tear on 4 December 2019 in a match against Juventus U23 (which was his 17th start for the club), the injury would keep him unable to play for the rest of the 2019–20 season. [5]

On 21 September 2020, he joined Serie B club Empoli on loan with an option to purchase. [6]

Juventus

On 14 July 2022, Juventus announced the signing of Cambiaso on a five-year contract. [7] The following day, Cambiaso joined Bologna on a season-long loan. [8]

On 28 October 2023, he scored his first goal for Juventus in the sixth minute of stoppage time in a 1–0 victory over Hellas Verona. [9] On 15 May 2024, Cambiaso started in the Coppa Italia final as Juventus defeated Atalanta by a score of 1–0 to lift the trophy for a record-extending 15th time. [10] On 24 May, he extended his contract with the club until 2029. [11]

International career

Cambiaso was called up to the senior Italy squad for UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying matches against North Macedonia and Ukraine, respectively on 17 and 20 November 2023. [12]

On 21 March 2024, Cambiaso debuted for the Italian senior squad in friendly match against Venezuela. [13]

The 2015–16 season was Juventus Football Club's 118th in existence and ninth consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football in Serie A was their from promotion to Serie B in 2007. Juventus added a third star to their jersey with new kit manufacturers Adidas in addition to the Coppa Italia badge for winning their tenth Coppa Italia the previous season. On 8 August 2015, Juventus defeated Coppa Italia runners-up Lazio to win the Supercoppa Italiana for a record 7th time. On 25 April 2016, the club won their fifth straight title since last winning five straight between 1930–31 and 1934–35, after second place Napoli lost to Roma to give Juventus the title with three games to spare. After winning only three of their first ten league matches and losing to Sassuolo on 28 October 2015, which left them in 12th place, the team went on a run of 25 matches in which they took 73 points of a possible 75, and secured the title. On 21 May, the club then won the Coppa Italia for the 11th time, and their second straight title, becoming the first team in Italy's history to complete Serie A and Coppa Italia doubles in back-to-back seasons. They also became the first Italian team to complete the domestic treble.

The 2015–16 season was Genoa Cricket and Football Club's ninth consecutive season in Serie A. The club finished in 11th place in Serie A, and was surprisingly eliminated by Lega Pro side Alessandria in the Coppa Italia.
