Andrea Lucchetta (born 25 November 1962) is an Italian former volleyball player who is a three-time Olympian. Among his achievements, he won a World Championship with the Italian national volleyball team in 1990. He was born in Treviso, Italy, and is nicknamed "Crazy Lucky" for his bizarre hair style.
Standing at 199cm (6ft 6in), Lucchetta played as middle blocker/hitter. Lucchetta debuted in Italian Major League in 1982 with Panini Modena, where he remained until 1990, winning five Italian titles and one European Champions Cup.
With the Italian team, he made 292 appearances, winning a World Championship in 1989, a European Championship in 1989, and three World Leagues from 1990 to 1992.
Lucchetta has been married to Nicoletta Tata, by whom he has two sons; he has now a partner called Francesca. He considers himself Roman Catholic.[1]

Charles Frederick "Karch" Kiraly is an American volleyball player, coach, and broadcast announcer. He was a central part of the U.S National Team that won gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He went on to win the gold medal again at the 1996 Olympic Games, the first Olympic competition to feature beach volleyball. He is the only player to have won Olympic medals of any color in both the indoor and beach volleyball categories. He played college volleyball for the UCLA Bruins, where his teams won three national championships under head coach Al Scates. Kiraly is widely regarded as the greatest male volleyball player of all time.
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). Nikola Grbić is a Serbian professional volleyball coach and former player who is currently serving as head coach for the Poland national team. Grbić is a gold medalist of the 2000 Summer Olympics, a bronze medalist of the 1996 Summer Olympics, and a multiple World Championship, European Championship, and World League medalist. He was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2016.

Gardini was the captain of the Italian team at the 2000 Olympics. He was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2007. Since the 2024–25 season, he has served as head coach for Olympiacos.

In 2019, he became the first ever volleyball player to be voted the Polish Sports Personality of the Year.
