Steven Ray Bieser is an American former professional baseball catcher and outfielder, who is currently head baseball coach of the Jacksonville State baseball team. He played college baseball at Jefferson College and Southeast Missouri State before playing professionally from 1989 to 2001. He then served as head coach of the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (2013–2016) and then the Missouri Tigers (2017–2023).

The Southern Ohio Copperheads is a community-owned, student-operated collegiate summer baseball team based in Athens, Ohio. The team is a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL), one of 11 leagues in the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). In 2018, Southern Ohio won its first and only GLSCL Championship in franchise history.
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Southeast Missouri State University located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Ohio Valley Conference. The school's first football team was fielded in 1902. The team plays its home games at the 11,015-seat Houck Stadium. They are coached by Tom Matukewicz.
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats men's basketball team represents Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, in the NCAA Division II men's basketball competition. The team is currently coached by Ben McCollum, who has been at the helm since 2009. The Bearcats currently compete, and are one of two founding members remaining, of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). He played college baseball at Shasta from 1997 to 1998 before transferring to Point Loma Nazarene. He then served as the head coach of the Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions (2005), Nevada (2014–2015) and the Arizona Wildcats (2016–2021).

Thomas Farden is a South Korea-born American college gymnastics coach. He began his career as the assistant coach of his alma mater the Southeast Missouri Redhawks women's program in 1999, and was promoted to head coach in 2003. After his departure in 2009, Farden briefly served as an assistant coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks for the 2010 season. In 2011, Farden became an assistant coach for the Utah Red Rocks team; a position he held until 2015 when, following the retirement of long-time leader Greg Marsden, he was made the co-head coach with Megan Marsden. After Marsden's retirement in 2019, Farden became the sole head coach of the program. In November 2023, the school put him on administrative leave.

The Redhawks, led by fifth-year head coach Rick Ray, played their home games at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 7–24, 3–15 in OVC play to finish in last place. They failed to qualify for the OVC tournament.

The 2022–23 Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men's basketball team represented Southeast Missouri State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by third-year head coach Brad Korn, played their home games at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 19–17, 10–8 in OVC play to finish a three-way tie for third place. As No. 5 seed in the OVC tournament, the defeated Lindenwood, Tennessee State, Moorehead State, and Tennessee Tech to win the conference championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history and first since 2000. As a No. 16 seed in the South region, they lost to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi in the First Four.
