Antonios Aronis (born 17 March 1957) is a Greek former water polo player who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics, in the 1984 Summer Olympics, and in the 1988 Summer Olympics. [1] He played for Greek powerhouses Ethnikos Piraeus and Olympiacos Piraeus. He won 14 trophies (11 championships) with Ethnikos and 4 (2 championships) with Olympiacos.

Olympiacos Men's Waterpolo, commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos CFP, is the professional men's water polo department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus, Greece. The department was founded in 1925, one of the founding members of the Hellenic Swimming Federation, and their home ground is the Papastrateio Pool in Piraeus.

Ethnikos Piraeus is a Greek multisport club based in Piraeus. It was founded in 1923. The full name of the club is Ethnikos Omilos Filathlon Pireos/Phalirou or Ethnikos OFPF, which means National Club of Fans of Piraeus and Phalerum. Ethnikos has sections in football, basketball, volleyball, waterpolo, swimming. In most of these sports, Ethnikos has won titles and honours. The most successful department is by far the water polo, which has won many domestic and European titles. Nevertheless, the most popular is the football team, which had a remarkable tradition in the first division in the past.

He was part of the Greece men's national water polo team that won the Bronze Medal in the 2005 World Championship in Montreal and the Bronze Medal in the 2004 World League in Long Beach.

Gerasimos "Makis" Voltirakis is a Greek retired water polo player and current water polo coach. Voltirakis was a member of Greece men's national water polo team from 1991 to 1997, with whom he competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics and in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He was part of the Greece men's national water polo team that won the silver medal at the 1997 World Cup in Athens, being voted the tournament's best goalkeeper.

Epaminondas Samartzidis was a Greek water polo player who competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics and in the 1992 Summer Olympics. He had 319 appearances for the Greece men's national water polo team. He started his career in Aris Thessaloniki. In 1985 final for the Greek Cup, Aris lost the final 8-7, but Samartzidis was the best player. The next season got transferred to powerhouse Ethnikos Piraeus where he won two championships and one Greek cup (1988). He had five gold medals in swimming (freestyle). He drowned on 22 June 1996 when he made free diving near to Palaia Epidavros.

Markellos Sitarenios is a Greek former water polo player who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics and in the 1984 Summer Olympics. He played at club level for Greek powerhouse Ethnikos Piraeus. He won 14 consecutive Greek championships and was the first Greek water polo player to play in the Italian league, where he played in 1985 with Polisportiva Anzio.

Thomas Karalogos is a Greek former water polo player who competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics, in the 1972 Summer Olympics, and in the 1980 Summer Olympics. He played at club level for Greek tradition water polo club Ethnikos Piraeus from 1966 to 1986 winning 19 Greek Championships and reaching the European Cup final four in 1980, the first time a Greek water polo team reached the final stage of the tournament.

Ioannis Garifallos is a Greek former water polo player who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics. He played for Greek powerhouse Ethnikos Piraeus. He is the son of “Patriarch of Greek water polo” Andreas Garyfallos. He played in the 70s and 80s winning 16 Greek championships with his childhood club Ethnikos.

The Greek Water Polo cup is the second most important competition of Greek men's waterpolo and is organised by KOE. It was first held in 1953. Initially started as a competition in memory of Pantelis Psychas, Greek athlete of the swimming. The competition was interrupted from 1959 to 1983. Moreover, it wasn't held in 1993-94 season. From 1998-99 season the Final Four system was instituted. Olympiacos Piraeus have won the most titles (25), followed by Ethnikos Piraeus (12). Olympiacos is the team with the most appearances in finals (30) while Ethnikos has the record of successive wins (8).

The two teams are one of the most successful multi sports clubs in Greece in terms of honours, with Olympiacos being the team with the most titles in the five biggest team sports, while Ethnikos being fifth.

Christopher A. Humbert is a former water polo center forward from the United States, who competed in three Summer Olympics for his native country. He was part of the United States national team squads that won the gold medal in the 1991 FINA World Cup in Barcelona and the gold medal in the 1997 FINA World Cup in Athens.

Stylianos "Stelios" Argyropoulos Kanakakis is a Greek water polo player, who is a member of Greece men's national water polo team. He is part of Greece national team that competes at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. He started his career in Ethnikos, a club with great tradition in water polo. He was named best rookie of the Greek championship in 2015 and 2016. He then played for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, with whom he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League, 2 Greek Championships and 1 Greek Cup. He is currently a player of Ferencvárosi TC.
