Army Green is one of the football sections that represents Indian Army. The team regularly participates in the Durand Cup and various regional tournaments. [1] [2] The team's major achievement was in 2016 Durand Cup as they won the title beating NEROCA FC in the final. [3] [4]
The Durand Cup is an annual domestic football competition in India which was first held in 1888 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society (DFTS) and the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the tournament is the oldest existing club football tournament in Asia and the fifth oldest national football competition in the world. The tournament currently serves as the opener for Indian football season. It is open for any national club, with guest invitee teams from different sections of the Indian Armed Forces, or abroad.
Salgaocar Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Vasco, Goa. Being one of the country's most successful clubs, it is currently operating youth teams. Until the disfunction of club's senior team in June 2023, Salgaocar competed in the Goa Professional League.
