Arthur Robert T Peyton Cruz is an American musician, currently the drummer of heavy metal band Lamb of God. He is a former drummer of Winds of Plague and Prong.

Early life

Cruz attended South El Monte High School in Southern California, joining the marching band percussion section during 2004–2006. [1]

Career

Winds of Plague

In 2008, Cruz was asked to join Winds of Plague and recorded the album The Great Stone War . The album peaked at No. 72 on the Billboard 200. [2] In 2011 he performed on the band's next album, Against the World , which peaked at No. 60 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, Cruz left Winds of Plague citing "creative differences". [3] Cruz returned as their drummer in 2015, and would also perform on the album Blood of My Enemy in 2017. In 2021, he left Winds of Plague in order to focus on Lamb of God, which he officially joined in 2019.

Prong

Following his departure from Winds of Plague, Cruz was asked to play for Prong. Cruz has toured and recorded on their album Songs from the Black Hole . Cruz left Prong in 2018.

Klogr and The Rasmus

In 2017, Cruz collaborated on drums on alternative metal project Klogr for the single "Technocracy" and a European tour with The Rasmus.

Lamb of God

In 2018, Cruz filled in for Chris Adler on Lamb of God's North American tour, which also included supporting Slayer on their farewell tour.

In 2019, he officially became the drummer for Lamb of God following Chris Adler's departure from the band. [4]

Cruz's first release with Lamb of God was their 2020 self-titled album. [5]

Equipment

Cruz endorses Zildjian cymbals, [6] and he uses Ludwig drums, Evans drumheads, Trick pedals, Gibraltar Hardware, and Vic Firth drumsticks.

As the Palaces Burn is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God, released under Prosthetic Records on May 6, 2003. The album was produced by Devin Townsend and the band itself, and received considerably more airplay than their previous effort, with three singles. As of 2013, As The Palaces Burn has sold 270,000 copies since its original release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Nitro was an American heavy metal band from Hollywood, California. Formed in 1988, the group originally featured vocalist Jim Gillette, guitarist Michael Angelo Batio, bassist T. J. Racer and drummer Bobby Rock. Nitro released its debut album O.F.R. in 1989, which reached number 140 on the US Billboard 200. Rock was replaced by K. C. Comet for the album's tour and Racer would leave the band thereafter. Nitro II: H.W.D.W.S., released in 1992, featured Ralph Carter on bass and Johnny Thunder on drums. The group broke up in 1993, with a number of previously unreleased demo recordings issued on the 1999 album Gunnin' for Glory.

The album was released on May 18, 2018 through Epic Records/Nuclear Blast. It is the band's first album as Burn the Priest since their 1999 album. Lamb of God is the tenth studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God. The album was initially set for release on May 8, 2020, through Epic and Nuclear Blast, but was later pushed back to June 19 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lamb of God marks the first studio album of all-new material by the band since 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang, making it the longest gap between their albums, and the first to feature Art Cruz as the replacement for original drummer Chris Adler, who left the band in July 2019. Lamb of God was once again produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, who has worked with the band since 2006's Sacrament.
