Ashok Nete (born 1 July 1963) is member of the 16th Lok Sabha [2] [3] from Gadchiroli–Chimur (Lok Sabha constituency) in Maharashtra state of India associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly [4] twice: 1999–2004 [5] and 2004–2009. [6] [7] [8]

He contested 2009 Lok Sabha elections [9] from Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency but lost to Marotrao Kowase of Indian National Congress who got 38.43% votes while Nete secured 35.025% votes. [4] Subsequently he won from this constituency in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha election as BJP/NDA candidate. [10] [11]

Personal life

Ashok Nete married Archana Warthe in 1998. They have two daughters Akshata and Ashita and a son Arnav. [12] [13]

Gadchiroli–Chimur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 48 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency came into existence on 19 February 2008 as a part of the implementation of the Presidential notification on delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted on 12 July 2002. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribes. It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Marotrao Kowase of the Indian National Congress. As of the 2014 elections, it is represented by Ashok Nete of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Bramhapuri Assembly constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra state, western India. This constituency is located in Chandrapur district, and is part of Gadchiroli–Chimur since the 2009 elections.

Suresh Narayan Dhanorkar, also called Balubhau Dhanorkar or Balu Dhanorkar, was an Indian politician who was the elected member of the Lok Sabha from Chandrapur constituency. He was a member of the Indian National Congress political party. He was the only candidate for the INC to be elected as MP from Maharashtra.
