Aspergillus primulinus (also named Neosartorya quadricincta and Neosartorya primulina) is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus . It is from the Fumigati section. [2] Several fungi from this section produce heat-resistant ascospores, and the isolates from this section are frequently obtained from locations where natural fires have previously occurred. [2] The species was first described in 1993. [1] It has been reported to produce quinolactacin and aszonalenins. [2]
A. primulinus has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
