Atlas is an unincorporated community which lies at the intersection of US Route 54 and Illinois Route 96 in western Pike County, Illinois. The community of Rockport lies about 2.5 miles to the northwest along route 96. The city of Louisiana, Missouri lies about six miles to the southwest across the Mississippi River. [2]
DeWitt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2020 census, the population was 15,516. Its county seat is Clinton. The county was formed on March 1, 1839, from Macon and McLean counties. The county was named in honor of the seventh Governor of New York State, DeWitt Clinton.

Greenville lies ten miles to the north and Carlyle is about 13 miles to the south along Illinois Route 127.
