Australia at the T20 World Cup

The Australia national cricket team is one of the full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The team has qualified for all the eight editions of the tournament and they won their first title in 2021. While they have been the runners-up in 2010, they had also reached the semifinals of the tournament in 2007 and 2012. In eight editions, the team has 25 wins in 41 matches.

Mitchell Aaron Starc is an Australian international cricketer who plays for the Australian national team and New South Wales in domestic cricket. A left-arm fast bowler and a lower order left-handed batsman, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in white-ball cricket as well as one of the best fast bowlers to play the ICC Cricket World Cup. Starc represents Australia in all three main formats of international cricket: Test cricket, One Day Internationals (ODI), and Twenty20 Internationals. In 2015, he was the highest-rated bowler in ODI cricket.

The Sri Lankan cricket team toured Australia from 6 December 2012 to 28 January 2013. The tour consisted of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Tests were played for the Warne–Muralidaran Trophy. The Test series was preceded by a match against the Cricket Australia Chairman's XI and Sri Lankans.

The 2015 Ashes series was a series of Test cricket matches played between England and Australia for The Ashes. The venues were Sophia Gardens (Cardiff), Lord's (London), Edgbaston (Birmingham), Trent Bridge (Nottingham), and The Oval (London). Australia were the defending holders of the Ashes going into the series, having won in 2013–14.

The Indian cricket team toured Australia from 24 November 2014 to 10 January 2015. The tour consisted of two tour matches and four Test matches. The first Test was originally scheduled on 4 December in Brisbane, but it was postponed because of the death of Phillip Hughes. Instead, Adelaide hosted the first Test from 9 December and the Brisbane hosted the second Test from 17 December. Following the draw in the third Test, Indian captain MS Dhoni announced his retirement from Test cricket with immediate effect. After the draw in the final Test in Sydney, Australia won the series 2–0. Following the Test matches, Australia and India participated in the Carlton Mid Triangular Series with the England cricket team.

The Australian cricket team is the most successful team in the Cricket World Cup winning the 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015, and 2023 editions. This also makes them the only team to have won the world cup in all the regions that have hosted the world cup till now. Australia also reached the finals of the 1975 and 1996 World Cups, losing to West Indies and Sri Lanka, respectively. They also reached the semifinals of the 2019 and the quarterfinals of the 2011 World Cups, losing to England and India, respectively. They were knocked out in the first round three times, in the 1979, 1983 and 1992 editions. The team has played a total 107 world cup matches, the highest of any team. Its overall win–loss record is 79-26, with one tied match and two being abandoned due to rain.

The Australian cricket team toured Sri Lanka from 18 July to 9 September 2016 to play three Test matches, five One Day Internationals (ODIs), two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) matches and a first-class practice match. The Test series was played for Warne–Muralitharan Trophy, with Sri Lanka winning 3–0, their first ever series whitewash against Australia. As a result, Australia slipped from first to third in the ICC Test Championship; Sri Lanka, who had started the series ranked seventh, moved up to sixth.

The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 Final was played between England and Australia at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on 16 May 2010. This was the third ICC World Twenty20. England won the match by 7 wickets, its first World Twenty20 victory, and first ICC world championship for the cricket birthplace. England became the third team to win this title after India in 2007 and Pakistan in 2009

The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Final was a day/night Twenty20 International cricket match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE, on 14 November 2021 to determine the winner of the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It was played between New Zealand and Australia, with both the teams yet to win their first T20 World Cup title. Australia won the match by 8 wickets to win their maiden T20 World Cup title.

The Test, known as The Test: A New Era for Australia's Team in its first season, is an Australian docu-series, produced by Amazon Studios for Amazon Prime Video, and co-produced by Cricket Australia. The first season was released on Prime Video on 12 March 2020 and consists of 8 episodes. A second season, consisting of 4 episodes, was released on 13 January 2023. A 3-episode third season was released on 24 May 2024.

The Australia men's cricket team toured South Africa in August and September 2023 to play five One Day Internationals (ODI) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) matches. The ODI matches formed part of both teams' preparations for the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

The Australian cricket team toured India in September 2022 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches as a preparatory series before 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. They later returned in February and March 2023 to play four Test and three One Day International (ODI) matches. The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.

The South African national cricket team toured Australia in December 2022 and January 2023 to play three Test matches. The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.

The West Indies cricket team toured Australia in January and February 2024 to play two Tests, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.

The Australia cricket team toured New Zealand in February and March 2024 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches and two Test matches. The teams contested the Trans-Tasman Trophy, with the Test series formed part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.
