The Australian People's Party is a registered political party in Australia. It was registered by the Australian Electoral Commission in March 2017. [1] It was formed in 2014. The party recruited enough members to gain registration in March 2017. The party says its aim is to improve standards of living and rights for all Australians through commonsense policies. [2] The party describes itself as a centrist party. [3]
In 2019 the Australian People's Party fielded 2 senate candidates for New South Wales. In 2017 the Australian People's Party stood a candidate for the by-election of the Division of New England, and again in the 2018 Batman by-election.
The party ran candidates in all five of the federal by-elections occurring on 28 July 2018, putting the Australian Labor Party last on their how-to-vote cards in each seat except for Mayo where previous incumbent Centre Alliance's Rebekha Sharkie was placed last. [4] The party ran a candidate in the 16-candidate 2018 Wentworth by-election. [5] All six candidates received the lowest number of first preference votes in their respective by-elections.
There have been several previous entities with the same name, including a party from Condobolin, New South Wales in 1917, [6] a party contesting the Division of Martin in 1929, [7] and a party contesting the Western Australian state seat of Joondalup in 1996. [8]
Pauline Hanson's One Nation, also known as One Nation or One Nation Party, is an Australian far-right political party. It was founded and is currently led by Senator Pauline Hanson. While One Nation has achieved only modest electoral success to date, it is the most successful populist party in Australia. The party had a brief but notable period of success in the late 1990s. Its leaders have been accused, charged, and later acquitted, of fraud, and the party has suffered from numerous defections, resignations and other internal scandals which prompted its initial decline and culminated in Hanson's resignation from the party. One Nation's policies and platform are widely criticized as being racist and xenophobic, although the party has denied this. Nevertheless, One Nation has had a profound impact on debates on multiculturalism and immigration in Australia. Following Hanson's return as leader and the 2016 federal election, the party has seen a revival in support.
Michael Keith Organ is a former Australian politician. He was an Australian Greens member of the Australian House of Representatives between 2002 and 2004, representing the Division of Cunningham, New South Wales. He was the first member of the Greens to win a seat in the House of Representatives, having won a by-election which the Liberal Party did not contest.

The Advance Australia Party , formerly the Building Australia Party, was a minor political party in Australia, advocating the rights of the building industry. First registered in New South Wales, it achieved federal registration in June 2010, but was deregistered in May 2015. However, the party was still active for several years afterwards on a state level, sending out candidates for the New South Wales Hills Shire Council and Mayoral elections in 2017. The Advance Australia Party was deregistered on 13 August 2019.

The Science Party, formerly known as Future Party, is an Australian political party that was established on the 2nd of July, 2013. The founding leader, James Jansson, was studying for his Doctorate at the Kirby Institute during the party's formation, with a focus on advancing Australian society through technical and long-term solutions. On the 22nd of March 2016, the name was changed to The Science Party after registering with the Australian Electoral Commission. The Science Party has run candidates for the 2013, 2016 and 2019 Federal elections, as well as several By-elections in between.
CountryMinded was an Australian political party between 2014 and 2018 that claimed to represent the interests of regional Australians whose livelihoods depend either directly or indirectly on agricultural production. The party was founded in December 2014 by a group of people looking for accountable regional representation, including two brothers from New South Wales, David and Peter Mailler as the Country Party of Australia, and changed its name to CountryMinded in September 2015. In 2018, the party merged with the Australian Democrats.

On 4 September 2020, the Australian Electoral Commission removed the Yellow Vest Australia from the registered political party list.
