The BYU Cougars women's soccer represents Brigham Young University in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. Prior to the 1995 season, the team participated as a club sport. The team is coached by Jennifer Rockwood and has made the NCAA Tournament 23 times, reaching the Quarterfinals of the College Cup four times in 2003, [2] 2012, 2019 and 2021. [3] The team plays its home games at South Field on the university campus.
From its founding until 1995 the BYU Cougars women's soccer club participated in the Western National Collegiate Club soccer Association (NCCSA). Twice during that stretch they made the NSCAA Championship, in 1993 and 1994. Jennifer Rockwood coached the BYU Women's soccer club for seven seasons before they joined the NCAA in 1995. Since joining the NCAA, BYU has consistently been ranked in the top 25. In 23 of the 28 years they have qualified for the NCAA Tournament. To date the Cougars have produced 38 All-Americans, and 8 of their many players continued to play professionally. [4]

BYU Cougars men's soccer is an American soccer team based in Provo, Utah, United States. The club has won nine NIRSA national championships, and it is the only university sponsored soccer program to have ever purchased a franchise, competing in the Premier Development League from 2003 to 2017. It has since returned to club competition, and the team plays its home games at The Stadium at South Field on the campus of Brigham Young University. The team's colors are dark blue and white.

The Cougars would win the WCC title and secure a berth in the College Cup, where they lost to Colorado playing in the snow.

The Cougars were coached for a 21st consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. The Cougars enter the 2015 season having won three consecutive West Coast Conference championships and having made the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons and in 16 of the 20 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. The Cougars also come in having been picked to win the 2015 WCC women's soccer crown. On the last day of the season BYU won their fourth consecutive WCC soccer title to automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament. BYU advanced to the second round of the College Cup where they were defeated by Stanford. BYU finished the season at 16–3–2.

Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. Overall the Cougars have made the NCAA tournament in 21 of the 26 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. Joining Rockwood as assistant coaches are Brent Anderson and Steve Magleby with volunteer assistants Rachel Jorgensen and McKinzie Young. The Cougars come off of a season where they were second in the WCC and went 11–4–1, 7–1–1 in the WCC. Their lone conference loss came to eventual national champion Santa Clara, whom the Cougars beat in Santa Clara in a non-conference match. For the 2021 season BYU returned 10 starters, including defending WCC Offensive Player of the Year Mikayla Colohan, who was drafted by the Orlando Pride. Cameron Tucker, who recorded eight goals and eight assists in 2020–21, also returned. The others returning due to an extra year of eligibility granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic include goalkeeper Cassidy Smith, Grace Johnson and Mikaylie Call. The incoming class features six new athletes and no new transfers. The Cougars went on to share the WCC crown, advance to their first ever College Cup, and tied in the championship with Florida State before losing on penalties to finish as national runner–up.

The 2024 BYU Cougars softball team represents Brigham Young University in the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin enters the year as head coach of the Cougars for the 22nd consecutive season. 2024 is the first season that sees the Cougars as members of the Big 12 Conference. BYU enter 2024 having won 13 of the last 14 conference championships but being picked to finish 7th in their new conference.

Christopher Noel Watkins is an American soccer coach and former player. Chris is currently the head coach of the Boston College Women's Soccer team. In 2003, Chris became the only collegiate head coach in history to lead a university-sponsored soccer program as they purchased a professional franchise. BYU, under Coach Watkins, competed in the Premier Development League from 2003 to 2017. At BYU, Chris also became the first and only collegiate coach to take a university-sponsored program to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2005, 2007, and 2015.
