Chapel

A Baptist chapel used to be located here. [1] The stone chapel was built in 1844 by local coal owner Thomas North for the inhabitants of the district. [2] It was reputedly a venue for runaway marriages. [3] The chapel closed about 1920, [4] was a ruined shell by 1950 [3] and had been demolished by 1969. [2]
