The Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, are awards for the excellence in the film, television and theater industry of South Korea. Baeksang ceremony is the only comprehensive entertainment awards ceremony in South Korea. The awards were first introduced in 1965 by Chang Key-young, the founder of Hankook Ilbo newspaper, whose pen name was "Baeksang". It was established for the development of Korean popular culture and art and for enhancing the morale of artists.
Chang Mi-hee is a South Korean actress. She was born Lee Yun-hui in Seoul, South Korea in 1958. Chang debuted as an actress in 1976 as starring in Seong Chun-hyang jeon directed by Park Tae-won and TBC TV drama, Haenyeo Dang-sil. Chang was commonly referred to as "New Troika" or "Second Troika" along with her rival actresses, Jeong Yun-hui and Yu Ji-in of the 1970s and 1980s after the "First Troika", Moon Hee, Nam Jeong-im, and Yoon Jeong-hee of the 1960s.
Jeong Yun-hui is a fomrer South Korean actress active since 1975. She was born in Tongyeong, a southwestern coastal city of South Gyeongsang province, South Korea in 1954. After graduation from Hyehwa Girls' High School, Jeong debuted as an actress in 1975 as starring in Yokmang directed by Lee Gyeong-tae. Jeong was commonly referred to as one of the "New Troika" or "Second Troika" along with her rival actresses, Chang Mi-hee and Yu Ji-in of the 1970s and 1980s after the "First Troika", Moon Hee, Nam Jeong-im, and Yoon Jeong-hee of the 1960s.

Moon Hee is a South Korean actress active since 1965. She was born in Pusan, South Korea in 1947. While attending Seorabeol Art College with a film and theater major, Moon applied for recruiting new actors by KBS TV. When she was attending for a camera test, Moon was picked up by an assistant director of Lee Man-hee. Moon was cast to star in Lee's film Heukmaek. Moon was commonly referred to as one of the "Troika" along with her rival actresses, Yoon Jeong-hee and Nam Jeong-im of the 1960s and early 1970s. Moon Hee retired from the acting career when she married Jang Gang-jae, the vice president of Hankook Ilbo in November 1971 who later became the chair of the newspaper company.
Kim Ji-mee is a South Korean actress, producer, and film planner whose activity began in 1957. She was born in Daedeok, South Chungcheong province, Korea in 1940. While a student of Deokseong Girls' High School, Kim was cast to Kim Ki-young's film, Hwanghon yeolcha (황혼열차) in 1957. Kim has been commonly dubbed "Elizabeth Taylor of Korea" by the South Korean news media for her resemblance with the American actress' appearance and popularity as well as her many marriages and divorces.

Kim Ja-ok was a South Korean actress. Kim was born in Busan in 1951. Kim dropped out of Hanyang University majoring in Film. Kim started her acting career after admitted to a public recruit by MBC TV. During the early period of the 1970s, she mainly starred in TV series, while in the late 1970s, Kim focused on film. Kim gained a popularity for her cheerful depiction on a woman of the new generation such as Sinbu ilgi (신부일기). Her last husband was singer, Oh Seung Geun. Her brother was announcer, Kim Tae Ok.

Lee Hye-young is a South Korean actress. She is the daughter of celebrated film director Lee Man-hee, who died in 1975 when she was in middle school. Lee began her acting career in 1981 at the age of 17 through a local musical theatre production of The Sound of Music. Since then she has performed in theater, feature and short films, and television. She was one of the most prominent South Korean actresses in the 1980s, starring in films such as The Blazing Sun (1985), Winter Wanderer (1986), Ticket (1986), The Age of Success (1988), North Korean Partisan in South Korea (1990), Fly High Run Far (1991), Passage to Buddha (1993), and No Blood No Tears (2002). Lee also played supporting roles in the Korean dramas I'm Sorry, I Love You (2004), Fashion 70's (2005) and Boys Over Flowers (2009).
The 50th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony, presented by the Ilgan Sports, took place on May 27, 2014, at Grand Peace Hall, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, beginning at 6:20 p.m. Korean Standard Time. The ceremony, televised in South Korea by JTBC, was hosted by comedian Shin Dong-yup and actress Kim Ah-joong.
The 53th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony was held on May 3, 2017 at Hall D, COEX in Seoul. Hosted by Park Joong-hoon and Bae Suzy, it was broadcast live on JTBC. Presented by Ilgan Sports, it is South Korea's only awards ceremony which recognises excellence in both film and television.

The 56th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony was held on June 5, 2020 at KINTEX, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Bae Suzy and Park Bo-gum for the third consecutive year. The annual awards ceremony is one of South Korea’s most prestigious award shows, recognizing excellence in film, television, and theater. The ceremony was initially set for May 1, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It did not invite an audience to prevent the spread of the disease.
