The Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as Paeksang Arts Awards, is an awards ceremony held annually by IS PLUS Corp., publisher of Ilgan Sports, since 1965. It is to honour outstanding achievements in the South Korean entertainment industry and to garner public attention upon the best in Korean films, television, and theater. It was established by Chang Key-young, founder of the Hankook Ilbo newspaper, [1] whose pen name was "Baeksang." The ceremony is usually presented in April or May in Seoul. [2]

Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as Paeksang Arts Awards, is an awards ceremony held annually by IS PLUS Corp., publisher of Ilgan Sports, since 1965. The 56th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony was held on June 5, 2020 at KINTEX, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Bae Suzy and Park Bo-gum for the third consecutive year. The annual awards ceremony is one of South Korea’s most prestigious award shows, recognizing excellence in film, television, and theater. The ceremony was initially set for May 1, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It did not invite an audience to prevent the spread of the disease.
