Nurul Akmal is an Indonesian weightlifter. She won the silver medal in the women's +90 kg event at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku, Azerbaijan. She also represented Indonesia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Rasoul Motamedi is an Iranian weightlifter. He won the gold medal in the men's 102 kg event at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He also won a gold medal at the 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships in the 102 kg weight division.

The 2022 World Weightlifting Championships was a weightlifting competition held in Bogotá, Colombia in December 2022. It was scheduled to be held in Chongqing, China but this changed in March 2022 as a result of COVID-19 measures in China. The new location was announced in April 2022. It was the first time Colombia hosted the World Weightlifting Championships.

Jhor Esneider Moreno Torres is a Colombian weightlifter. He won the bronze medal in the men's 96 kg event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia. He also won the bronze medal in the men's 77 kg event at the 2015 Pan American Games held in Toronto, Canada. He is also a two-time gold medalist at the Pan American Weightlifting Championships.

Artyom Antropov is a Kazakh weightlifter, and Youth World Champion competing in the 96 kg and 102 kg categories.
