Balkan Half Marathon Championships

The Balkan Half Marathon Championships is an annual international competition over the half marathon between athletes from the Balkans. Organised by the Association of the Balkan Athletics Federations, it was inaugurated in 2012. It is one of two road running championships for the region, alongside the Balkan Marathon Championships. [1]

Contents

The championships features races for both men and women. National team competitions are held within the individual races, with each nation's score being the total of the finishing positions of their best three athletes.

The competition was renamed to its current title in 2020 after the governing body rebranded itself moving away from the long-standing International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) moniker.

2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships

The 2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships took place on 24 March 2018 in Valencia, Spain. It was the 23rd edition of the event and the 2nd time it was held in Spain.
