The Balkan Athletics U20 Championships is an annual track and field competition for athletes under-20 years old from the Balkans. Formerly known as the Balkan Athletics Junior Championships, it was first held in 1970 and is organised by Balkan Athletics. [1] It is one of the oldest youth athletics championships, being created in the same year at the European Athletics Junior Championships, though predated by the South American U20 Championships in Athletics. [2] [3]

Tereza Moncheva Marinova is a Bulgarian athlete who specialised in the triple jump. She was the gold medallist in that event at the 2000 Summer Olympics and a bronze medallist at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics and 1998 European Athletics Championships. She won triple jump titles at the 2001 IAAF World Indoor Championships and 2002 European Athletics Indoor Championships. She made her international debut in 1994 and retired in 2008.

The FIBA U18 European Championship, originally known as the European Championship for Juniors, is a youth men's basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1964 edition. It was held biennially through the 2002 edition. From the 2004 edition onward, it has been held every year. It serves as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Under-19 World Cup, for the FIBA Europe region. The current champions are Serbia.

Dragan Perić is a Serbian retired shot putter who occasionally competed in the discus throw. He holds the Serbian records in both events. He represented Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro in four consecutive Summer Olympics from 1992 to 2004, in eight World Championships from 1991 to 2005 and three European Championships from 1990 to 1998.

The Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships, also known as the Balkan Indoor Games, is an annual international regional indoor track and field competition between athletes from the Balkans. Following a test event in 1991, it was officially launched in 1994. Organised by the Association of the Balkan Athletics Federations (ABAF), it is typically held in February. The competition complemented the long-running annual outdoor track and field tournament: the Balkan Games.

Cătălina Gheorghiu is a Romanian middle-distance runner. She competed in the at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Danial Jahić was a Serbian long jumper. He competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He was national indoor record holder for 20 years.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Adriana Vilagoš</span> Serbian javelin thrower

Adriana Vilagoš is a Serbian athlete who specializes in the javelin throw. At the age of 18, she won silver medal at the 2022 European Athletics Championships, becoming the youngest ever European medallist in a throwing event. One year prior, Vilagoš was for the first time the World Under-20 Champion and earned silver medal at the European U20 Championships successfully defending her World U20 title in 2022 and breaking championship and European U20 records in the process.
