The 2017 Balkan Athletics Championships was the 76th edition of the annual track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held at Novi Pazar Athletics Stadium in Novi Pazar, Serbia on 15 and 16 July. The host nation Serbia won the most titles at the competition, with nine, and also shared the highest medal total with Romania, at 21. Romania finished top of the team points table. [1]

Novi Pazar City in Šumadija and Western Serbia, Serbia

Novi Pazar is a city located in the Raška District of southwestern Serbia. As of the 2011 census, the urban area has 66,527 inhabitants, while the city administrative area has 100,410 inhabitants. The city is the cultural center of the Bosniaks in Serbia and the region of Sandžak. A multicultural area of Muslims and Orthodox Christians, many monuments of both religions, like the Altun-Alem Mosque and the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, are found in the region which has a total of 30 protected monuments of culture.

Kosovo Vilayet

The Vilayet of Kosovo was a first-level administrative division (vilayet) of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkan Peninsula which included the current territory of Kosovo and the north-western part of the Republic of North Macedonia. Uskub's population of 32,000 made it the largest city in the province, followed by Prizren, also numbering at 30,000.

FK Novi Pazar

Fudbalski klub Novi Pazar is a professional football club from Novi Pazar, Serbia. The club was formed in 1928 as FK Deževa. FK Novi Pazar compete in the Serbian SuperLiga and play their home games at the 12,000 capacity Novi Pazar City Stadium. The club has got a B team FK Novi Pazar 1928 who plays in the Serbian Zone League.

Darko Šarović

Darko Šarović is a Serbian medical doctor and athlete who specialises in the 60 meter and 100 meter sprint events. He is the fifth fastest serb of all time, and the Serbian record holder U23 in the 100 m. Sarovic is a Balkan 100 m Champion, and 60 m and 4 × 100 m bronze medallist. He is also the Serbian Champion in the 100 m, 200 m (twice) and the pole vault events and Serbian U23 Champion in the 100 m, 400 m and 4 × 100 m. Sarovic represented the Serbian National Athletics Team in the 60 m, 100 m, 200 m, and 4 × 100 m.

Amela Terzić Serbian middle-distance runner

Amela Terzić is a Serbian middle-distance runner. She won two gold medals at 2011 European Athletics Junior Championships in Tallinn and was the junior champion at the 2012 European Cross Country Championships. She has also been a medallist in the 1500 metres at the World Junior and World Youth Championships and a gold medalist at the 2013 European U23 Championship.

Darko Radomirović is a Serbian retired middle-distance track runner who specialized in the 1500 metres discipline. He represented Yugoslavia at the 2000 Summer Olympics for the men's 1500 metre race.

The Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships, also known as the Balkan Indoor Games, is an annual international indoor track and field competition between athletes from the Balkan Peninsula. Following a test event in 1991, it was officially launched in 1994. Organised by the Association of the Balkan Athletics Federations (ABAF), it is typically held in February. The competition complemented the long-running annual outdoor track and field tournament: the Balkan Games.

Mišel Lozanić is a Serbian professional fitness and bodybuilding competitor, fitness model and personal trainer. He has won a two World championships: he was placed first at the WABBA World championship in 2016 in Verona, Italy and at the IBFA World championship in 2016 in Rome, Italy. He is a WBPF European champion. Since 2014, he has been the Serbian WBPF national champion. Lozanic also placed at WBPF World championships in 2014 in Mumbai, India and in 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Lozanić is now competing under IFBB.

The 2018–19 Basketball League of Serbia is the 13th season of the Basketball League of Serbia, the highest professional basketball league in Serbia. Also, it's the 75th national championship played by Serbian clubs inclusive of nation's previous incarnations as Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro.

The 2016 Balkan Athletics Championships was the 75th edition of the annual track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held at Stadionul Nicolae Dobrin in Pitești, Romania on 25 and 26 June. The host nation Romania won the most titles at the competition, with eight, and Turkey won with most medals overall, at 23.

2015 Balkan Athletics Championships

The 2015 Balkan Athletics Championships was the 74th edition of the annual track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held at Stadionul Nicolae Dobrin in Pitești, Romania on 1 and 2 August. The host nation Romania won the most medals at the competition, with 28, and the Turkey won the most gold medals, at 10. The competition was originally scheduled to take place in Serres, Greece, but the venue was changed due to a lack of funding, in the context of the Greek government-debt crisis.

2014 Balkan Athletics Championships

The 2014 Balkan Athletics Championships was the 67th edition of the annual track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held at Stadionul Nicolae Dobrin in Pitești, Romania on 26 and 27 July. The host nation Romania topped the medal table with fourteen gold medals among a total haul of 32. Turkey and Bulgaria each won seven gold medals.

The 2019 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships was the 24th edition of the annual indoor track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held on 16 February at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey.

It was held at the Pravets Sports Complex in Pravets, Bulgaria on 2 and 3 September. It was the first time that the city hosted the competition.

2014 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships

The 2014 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships was the 19th edition of the annual indoor track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held on 22 February at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. Ivana Španović broke the Serbian indoor record to win the women's long jump with a mark of 6.92 m.
