Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and in the Caucasus region. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each. The Premier League champion secures the right to play in UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. Baku Tennis Academy, is a tennis venue in Baku, Azerbaijan. The center currently hosts the Baku Cup. The main stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people. The central court has a capacity of 3,000, and the other 12 open/closed courts have a capacity of 200.

Gymnastics competitions at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku were held from 12 to 15 May. The competition was split into two disciplines, artistic and rhythmic. Women competed in both disciplines whereas the men only took part in the artistic competition.
