Athletics at the Commonwealth Youth Games

Athletics is one of several sports contested at the quadrennial Commonwealth Youth Games . It has featured at every edition of the competition since its inauguration in 2000. Athletes under nineteen years old may compete (in contrast to the usual under-18 format of other youth athletics competitions). [1]

    The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions comprising fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The series sits in the top tier of the World Athletics one-day meeting competitions.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Canada at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games</span> Sporting event delegation

    Canada competed at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games held in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man from September 7 to 13, 2011. Their participation marked their third Commonwealth Youth Games appearance. Canada was represented by the Commonwealth Games Canada, the association which is responsible for Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth movement in Canada. The delegation of 70 people included 56 competitors and 14 coaches and supporting staff.

    The South American U18 Championships in Athletics is a biennial athletics event organized by "Confederación Sudamericana de Atletismo" (CONSUDATLE), the South American area association of the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF). Starting in 1973, the competition was open for athletes under-17 in the early years. Since 2000 the international age group definition has applied. Up until the 2016 edition the competition was known as the South American Youth Championships in Athletics. The tournament is open for athletes from CONSUDATLE member federations. Athletes from IAAF members of other geographical areas may be invited. However, they are not considered in the classification.
