The 2011 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca "Magico Gonzalez" in San Salvador, El Salvador, between June 18–19, 2011. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 24th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 19th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 80 events were contested, 42 by boys and 38 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

The 2010 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá, between May 28–29, 2010. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 23rd edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 18th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 82 events were contested, 43 by boys and 39 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

The 2008 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca "Magico Gonzalez" in San Salvador, El Salvador, between July 19–20, 2008. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 21st edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 16th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 77 events were contested, 41 by boys and 36 by girls. Overall winner on points was  El Salvador.

The 2004 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica, between June 11–12, 2004. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 17th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 12th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 84 events were contested, 43 by boys and 41 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

Athletics at the 2013 Central American Games International athletics championship event

Athletics competitions at the 2013 Central American Games were held at the Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica, between March 9–12, 2013. The two marathon events were held on March 17. A total of 41 events were contested, 20 by men and 21 by women. Men's pole vault, hammer throw, decathlon, and 35 km race walk, as well as women's high jump and pole vault were cancelled because the required minimum participation of 3 countries was not achieved.

The 2013 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics took place on May 24–26, 2013. The event was held at the Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 26th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 21st edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 83 events were contested, 20 by junior boys, 21 by junior girls, 21 by youth boys, and 21 by youth girls. A total of 22 new championship records were set. Overall winner on points was Costa Rica.

Aixa Middleton González is a Panamanian track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. Her personal best of 55.00 m is the Panamanian national record for the event. She has represented her country at the Central American and Caribbean Games, the South American Championships in Athletics, the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics and the 2015 Pan American Games.

Athletics competitions at the 2017 Central American Games were held at the Estadio Olímpico del IND Managua in Managua, Nicaragua, between December 9–12, 2017. The two marathon events were held on December 17, 2017.
