Baltic Robinson 2000, was the first version of Expedition Robinson , or Survivor to air in the Baltic region of Europe. 15 contestants faced off against each in three teams of five representing their nation trying to survive and win immunity and avoid tribal council. Due to the nature of the season, each tribe (country) had to have at least one representative be a part of the final three and reach the final tribal council. The season notably wasn't filmed in a tropical location but filmed on the unhabitated island of Kõrgelaid in Estonia. [2] [3] [4]
The season aired on the local countries network TV3 with its premiere on 30 September 2000 in Estonia and Lithuania with Latvia airing the following day. [5] [6] [7] The season concluded on 24 December 2000 where Latvian Zane Mukāne won in a final challenge against Lithuanian Monika Verbutaitė and Estonian Inga Vahar to win a Mazda 626 alongside the title of Robinson. The Latvia national football team represents Latvia in men's international football, and is controlled by the Latvian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Latvia. They have never qualified for the FIFA World Cup, but did qualify for the European Championship in 2004 under head coach Aleksandrs Starkovs.

The Baltic Cup is an international football competition contested by the national teams of the Baltic states – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Sometimes guests from the Northern Europe subregion are also invited: Finland has participated in the event twice, Iceland once, and Faroe Islands are scheduled to make a debut appearance in 2024. Though originally held annually the competition has been biennial since 2008. The 2020 tournament was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic, and took place in 2021.

Lauris Reiniks is a Latvian pop music singer, songwriter, television host and actor. He has graduated from Jelgava Music college, studied communication science at the University of Latvia and trained as an actor in Los Angeles, California. Lauris Reiniks has released 9 solo albums and singles in 11 languages. He is also a composer and one of the creators of Ričijs Rū / Richie Roo Bear project for kids. As a composer and recording artist Lauris Reiniks has received more than 20 National Latvian awards and has gained international recognition in the Baltic states. Lauris Reiniks is also the Season 1 winner of Latvian "Dancing with the Stars" show. The millions of views of his music videos on YouTube has unofficially made him a "King of YouTube" in Latvia.
Television in Latvia was first tested in 1937 and introduced in 1954. Latvia was the first country in the Baltic States which started broadcasting.
Tartu Ülikooli korvpallimeeskond, also known as Tartu Ülikool Maks & Moorits for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in Tartu, Estonia. They are a part of the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club. The team plays in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Their home arena is the University of Tartu Sports Hall.

First Baltic channel was a Baltic pay television channel based on the largest Russian Channel One to broadcast its programs in the Baltic states. It was launched on 4 September 2002. The channel had also broadcast the local news programme Latvian time since June 2003. The channel was closed in Latvia on 26 October 2021 due to misinformation about COVID-19 and two other violations. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, its license was revoked and the channel was effectively banned in all three Baltic States.
Baltic Farm, known as Farmi in Estonia, Ferma in Latvia and Fermos in Lithuania was the first and only season of The Farm to air in the Baltic region of Europe. 19 contestants compete and live on a Farm like it was a century prior and to try and survive to win the grand prize of €10,000. The series was filmed on the premises of the Mihkli farm museum in Malvaste, Estonia where the series was hosted by Marko Matvere representing Estonia, Artūrs Skrastiņš hosting for Latvia and Kęstutis Jakštas hosting for Lithuania. The series premiered on 4 February 2003 and concluded on 27 April 2003 where Latvian Una Jēkabsone won in the final challenge against Lithuanian Nerijus Cesiulis and Estonian Kalle Talvi to win the grand prize and be crowned the winner of Baltic Farm.
