Hyde County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 4,589, making it the second-least populous county in North Carolina. Its county seat is Swan Quarter. The county was created in 1705 as Wickham Precinct. It was renamed Hyde Precinct in 1712 and gained county status in 1739.
Dare County is the easternmost county in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 36,915. Its county seat is Manteo. Dare County is named after Virginia Dare, the first child born in the Americas to English parents, who was born within the county's current borders. Founded in 1870 from parts of Tyrrell, Currituck and Hyde counties, it consists of a large segment of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, along with Roanoke Island and a peninsula of land attached to the mainland. Most of the county consists of a string of resort communities along the Outer Banks. While lightly populated by year-round residents, the population swells during the summer with vacationers.

The county was formed in 1668 as a precinct of Albemarle County and later gained county status in 1739. The name is "traditionally said to be an indigenous word for wild geese; Coratank." Currituck County is included in the Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, VA-NC Metropolitan Area. It is in the northeastern section of the state and is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Currituck Sound, Camden County, Dare County and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Currituck Court House, mentioned as early as 1755, was the name of the county seat. Today the words "Court House" have been dropped and only Currituck is used as the town name.

College of The Albemarle (COA) is a public community college in the Albemarle region of northeastern North Carolina. The main campus is in Elizabeth City with satellite campuses in Barco, Manteo and Edenton. Established on December 16, 1960, College of The Albemarle became the first institution of the North Carolina Community College System as chartered by the Community College Act of 1957.
Coinjock is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Currituck County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 335. It is located on U.S. Route 158 between Barco and Grandy, about 20 miles (32 km) south of the Virginia state line, and is at mile marker 50 on the southern portion of the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal, on the Intracoastal Waterway. Church's Island to the east of Coinjock in the Currituck Sound has a village called Waterlily, which uses the postal address of Coinjock as well. The island's name is due to a decayed church that was once a landmark of the tiny community. Coinjock is bordered by Currituck Sound to the east; the North River lies to the west. North Carolina Highway 168 (NC 168) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Known as Caratoke Highway, the state highway runs 18.28 miles (29.42 km) from US 158 in Barco north to the Virginia state line in Moyock, where the highway continues as Virginia State Route 168 (SR 168) toward Norfolk, Virginia. NC 168 forms part of the primary north–south highway of Currituck County, where it provides access to the county seat of Currituck. The state highway also provides a crucial link for traffic between the Hampton Roads region of Virginia and the Outer Banks.
North Carolina Highway 136 (NC 136) is a 2.22-mile (3.57 km) North Carolina state highway that runs entirely within Currituck County. It is a short spur of U.S. Route 158, connecting the U.S. Highway to the small unincorporated community of Poplar Branch. The route's eastern terminus is at a boat launch on the Currituck Sound. Prior to 2002, NC 136's current alignment was known as NC 3. In 2002, the numbering of this road and of what was then NC 136 which was located in Iredell and Cabarrus counties swapped to place NC 3 near the home of Dale Earnhardt, a deceased NASCAR driver from Kannapolis who drove the #3 car.
Currituck County Regional Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport in Currituck County, North Carolina, United States. It is located four nautical miles south of the central business district of Currituck, North Carolina. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility. It was previously known as Currituck County Airport or Currituck Regional Airport.

The Currituck Beach Lighthouse is not located on mainland Currituck but is located across the sound on the Outer Banks.
