Batik Kulambu Island (Malay : Pulau Batik Kulambu) is a Malaysian island located in Darvel Bay, about 8 kilometres off Kunak in the state of Sabah. The island extends for about 4.9 kilometres from east to west and about 2 kilometres from north to south. [1] The highest point is 249 metres above sea level to the tops of the trees. [2] A narrow channel to the south-east separates Batik Kulambu from the larger island of Timbun Mata.
The Leverett Glacier is about 50 nautical miles (90 km) long and 3 to 4 nautical miles wide, flowing from the Antarctic Plateau to the south end of the Ross Ice Shelf through the Queen Maud Mountains. It is an important part of the South Pole Traverse from McMurdo Station to the Admundson–Scott South Pole Station, providing a route for tractors to climb from the ice shelf through the Transantarctic Mountains to the polar plateau.
Filippo Reef is a reef that is asserted to be in the Pacific Ocean at 05°30′S151°50′W, 450 kilometres (280 mi) east of Starbuck Island in the Line Islands. The reef was reported by the master of the Italian barque Filippo as having been seen on 28 June 1886. From an unidentified report of breakers dated 1926, it was estimated to have a water depth of only 0.6 to 0.9 metres, and appeared to be about 1.6 kilometres (1.0 mi) long northwest to southeast, and less in width.
Jambongan Island is located on the northern coast of Sabah in Malaysia. It is one of the largest island in Sabah located in Teluk Paitan in the Sandakan Division. Jambongan town is located on the south-east of the island. The highest point on the island is Buli Gantungan Hill, at a height of 156 metres.
Lumut Bypass, Federal Route 100, is a highway bypass in Manjung district, Perak, Malaysia. It is also a main bypass to Lumut and Teluk Batik. The motorists will be using this road from Ipoh-Lumut Highway to Pangkor Island. The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 100 starts at Simpang Empat, Teluk Muroh junctions, at its interchange with the Federal Route 18, connecting Lumut to Sitiawan.
Cape Jaffa is a headland in the Australian state of South Australia located at the south end of Lacepede Bay on the state's south east coast about 20 kilometres south west of the town centre of Kingston SE. The cape is described as being "a low sandy point" with "its sea face is about One nautical mile (1.9 km) long" and having a "wooded range rises near the S[outh] part of the cape and reaches a height of 77 metres at Mount Benson, about 8.5 nautical miles S[outh] E[ast]". A settlement known as King's Camp in some sources and as Cape Jaffa in other sources is located about 0.5 nautical miles to the north west of the cape. This settlement includes a jetty fitted with a navigation aid and a marina. The southern coastline of the cape forms part of the Bernouilli Conservation Reserve.
Stokes Bay is a bay in South Australia on the northern coast of Kangaroo Island located about 38 kilometres (24 mi) west of the town of Kingscote. It is described as being the largest of a number of coves located along the coast between Cape Dutton about 3 nautical miles (5.6 km) to the west and Cape Cassini about 7 nautical miles (13 km) to the east. The source of the bay's name is reported as taking its names from "supposedly takes its name from the first mate of the Hartley which arrived in South Australia in October 1837" and is not to be confused with a Henry Stokes (c.1808-1898), a sealer who lived on Kangaroo Island prior to 1836 or a John Stokes who arrived on the island in 1817 and who is reported as residing at Stokes Bay.
Little Karimun is an island in the Strait of Malacca, about 58 kilometres (36 mi) west of Batam and 35 km south-west of Singapore. It belongs to the Karimun Regency of the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia. It is located just off the east coast of Sumatra.
Malendok Island is an island of the Tanga Islands of Papua New Guinea, located to the east of New Ireland. It is located to the south-west of Boang Island and north-east of Lif Island and Tefa Island. It covers 35 square kilometres (13.5 sq mi). Most inhabitants live in small hamlets on the coast. On the south-western side is a coconut plantation.
Landfall Island is the northernmost island of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It belongs to the territory's North and Middle Andaman administrative district. The island lies 220 km (137 mi) north of Port Blair, and is situated 300 km (186 mi) south of Myanmar. It is home to the Kari tribe.
Dinawan Island is a Malaysian island located in the West Coast on the state of Sabah. It is located about 3.5 kilometres from the township of Kinarut near the mouth of the Kinarut River. The island is 73 m high and surrounded by reefs and sandbanks. The private owner operates a tourist resort on the island.
Lunn Island is a solitary island of Papua New Guinea in the Solomon Sea, belonging to the Louisiade Archipelago. It belongs to Milne Bay Province, to the ward of Conflict Group and is located between the Engineer Group, which is 8.3 kilometres to the west, and the Torlesse Islands, which are 18.3 kilometres to the east. The Deboyne Islands are another 22 kilometres eastward.
Seal Island, also known as Seal Rock, is an island in the Australian state of South Australia located in Encounter Bay off the south coast of Fleurieu Peninsula approximately 2.7 kilometres south-east of Victor Harbor. It is located with the boundaries of the following protected areas - the West Island Conservation Park and the Encounter Marine Park.
Mount Benson is a 77-metre (253 ft) high hill located about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north north-east of Robe in the south east of South Australia. It was named in 1839 either by Governor Grey after a stockman employed by Charles Bonney or by Bonney himself. Mount Benson itself is located both within the locality of the same name and the wine region of the same name.
Cape Donington is a headland in the Australian state of South Australia located at the most northerly part of the Jussieu Peninsula on the east coast of Eyre Peninsula in about 10 kilometres east of the city of Port Lincoln.
Warburto Point is a headland located on the west coast of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia about 12 kilometres south west of the town of Wallaroo. The point is described by one source as being ‘a rocky projection that extends about 1.5 nautical miles W(est) from the mainland’ and that ‘it is 6.1 metres high and is fringed by mangroves along each of its sides.’ The land at the tip of the point has been part of the Bird Islands Conservation Park since 1972. Since 1995, it has been the site of a navigation aid in the form of a light tower which was commissioned to replace the lighthouse on Tiparra Reef. It is also the site of a coastal weather station operated by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
Topgallant Islands is an island group in the Australian state of South Australia located in the Investigator Group about 22 kilometres south west of Cape Finniss on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. The group was discovered and named by Matthew Flinders on 13 February 1802. The island group has enjoyed protected area status since the 1960s and since 2011, it has been part of the Investigator Group Wilderness Protection Area.
Cape Finniss is a headland located at the southern extremity of Anxious Bay on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia about 6 kilometres Northwest by west of the town of Elliston. It is described as being ‘a rocky headland with a rounded top, 47 metres high.’ Cape Finniss is linked by a submerged reef which is considered to be ‘remnants of a once more prominent Cape Finnis(s)’ to the Waldegrave Islands which are located to the cape's north west.
Cape Wiles is a headland located on the west side of the southern tip of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia about 27 kilometres south west of the city of Port Lincoln. The cape is described by one source as being the south east extremity of “a broad promontory” of which Cape Carnot is the south west extremity at a distance of 3 nautical miles to the west. The cape also is the western extremity of Sleaford Bay.
Cape Radstock is a headland located on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia about 45 kilometres south south-east of the town of Streaky Bay and about 9.3 kilometres (5 nmi) south east of Point Labatt. The cape is both the north western extremity of Anxious Bay and the southern extremity of the Calca Peninsula. The cape is described as being “steep and bold” and where the cliffs reach a height of 135 metres, being the high point of a line of cliffs starting at Point Labatt in the west and from within Anxious Bay in the east. It was named by Matthew Flinders on 9 February 1802 after William Waldegrave, 1st Baron Radstock. Since 2012, the waters adjoining its shoreline are within a habitat protection zone in the West Coast Bays Marine Park.
Slade Point is a headland in the Australian state of South Australia located on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula in the locality of Sceale Bay about 29 kilometres (18 mi) south of the town of Streaky Bay. The point is the northern extremity of Searcy Bay and the southern extremity of a promontory that separates Searcy Bay in the south east from Sceale Bay in the north west. While it is within the coastline first charted by Matthew Flinders on 9 February 1802, it is not named by Flinders possibly due to the coastline being obscured by a thick haze. Slade Point was named in 1908 after “the late Mr. W. E. Slade” who served as the Assistant Engineer of Harbours in the South Australian Government. The cape has adjoined the boundary of the Cape Blanche Conservation Park since 2012 while the waters adjoining its shoreline have been within a habitat protection zone in the West Coast Bays Marine Park also since 2012.
