Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road or Becakayu is a toll road constructed over the Kalimalang River in East Jakarta and Bekasi, Indonesia to decrease traffic congestion around Kalimalang. [1] [2]
The toll road began construction in 1996 by PT Kresna Kusuma Dyandra Marga, founded by Tommy Suharto, but was halted two years later due to the Asian financial crisis. The construction of the 21.04 kilometer toll road had been idle for about 20 years before a consortium of construction companies took over and restarted the project in late 2014. The Becakayu toll road costs Rp7.2 trillion, construction costs Rp4.785 trillion, land acquisition costs Rp449 billion and concession period of 45 years (since SPMK). Investor and manager of Becakayu Toll Road is PT Waskita Toll Road, a subsidiary of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, which holds 98.97 percent of PT Kresna Kusuma Dyandra Marga shares.
On 3 November 2017, President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Section of IB and Becakayu Toll Road along Cipinang Melayu - Jakasampurna. [3] After the inauguration, the toll is opened for free, and after two weeks, the entry fee is Rp14.000,00 for Group 1 [4] [5] The toll road is expected to be fully operational by 2018. Trans-Sumatra Toll Road is an under-construction tolled expressway stretching across Sumatra Island in Indonesia from the northern tip of Banda Aceh to the southern tip of Bakauheni. This toll road was originally planned to connect to the established toll road system of Java through the now cancelled Sunda Strait Bridge. This toll road is part of a Trans-Sumatra Toll Road. The inauguration of the construction of the toll road was carried out on 30 April 2015 by President of Indonesia Joko Widodo. This toll road consists of two lanes in each direction, which has nine interchanges.
The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Skyway, formerly known as the Jakarta–Cikampek Elevated Toll Road, is a 36.4-kilometre-long (22.6 mi) elevated expressway that extends from Cikunir, Bekasi, to Karawang in West Java, Indonesia, operated by PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek, a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga Tbk and PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk with PT Ranggi Sugiron Perkasa as minority shareholder. It passes over some sections of the existing Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road. It is the longest flyover in Indonesia, and the longest elevated double decker expressways in Southeast Asia. The toll road was opened by President Joko Widodo on 11 December 2019 and was renamed after Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on 8 April 2021 at the behest of the President's secretary.
