Pukekohe is a town in the Auckland Region of the North Island of New Zealand. Located at the southern edge of the Auckland Region, between the southern shore of the Manukau Harbour and the mouth of the Waikato River. The hills of Pukekohe and nearby Bombay Hills form the natural southern limit of the Auckland region. Pukekohe is located within the political boundaries of the Auckland Council, following the abolition of the Franklin District Council on 1 November 2010.
Eden Park is a sports venue in Auckland, New Zealand. It is located three kilometres southwest of the Auckland CBD, on the boundary between the suburbs of Mount Eden and Kingsland. The main stadium has a nominal capacity of 50,000, and is sometimes referred to as New Zealand's national stadium. The stadium is used primarily for rugby union in winter and cricket in summer, and has also hosted rugby league and association football matches, as well as concerts and cultural events. It is owned and operated by the Eden Park Trust Board, whose headquarters are located in the stadium.

The Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union (CMRFU) is the governing body of rugby union in Southern Auckland and the Franklin district of New Zealand. Nicknamed the Steelers, their colours are red, white, and black horizontal bands. The Steelers moniker is a reference to the Glenbrook steel factory, which is in the area. The union is based in Pukekohe, and plays at Navigation Homes Stadium.
Burnside Park is a cricket ground in Burnside, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when Canterbury Women played Auckland Women in 1974. The ground later held its only first-class match in 1991 when Canterbury played Central Districts in the 1991/92 Shell Trophy, with the match ending in a 3 wicket victory for Canterbury.

The ground later held a first-class match in the 1986/87 Shell Trophy when Northern Districts played Central Districts. A second first-class match was held there in the 1988/89 Shell Trophy when Northern Districts played Wellington. First-class cricket hasn't been played there since. A single Youth One Day International was held there in 1988 when New Zealand Under-19s played India Under-19s.
Waikanae Park is a cricket ground in Waikanae, Wellington, New Zealand. The ground held its first List A match when Central Districts played Auckland in the 1993/94 Shell Cup. The ground later held five further List A matches, the last of which came in the 2004/05 State Shield when Central Districts played Wellington. Central Districts Women used Victoria Park as a home venue in two fixtures in the 2001/02 State League.

Christopher Mark Brown, commonly known as Chris Brown, is a former Cook Islands cricketer, who previously played representative cricket for Auckland at New Zealand domestic level. Born in Rarotonga, Brown played his early cricket for Auckland under-age teams, and went on to represent the New Zealand national under-19s in several matches as a right-arm fast bowler. Making his first-class debut during the 1993–94 season of the Shell Trophy, he took ten wickets in his debut match, and represented the New Zealand Cricket Academy twice later in the season.
The Counties Manukau cricket team represents the southern part of the Auckland Region, including the Auckland outer suburbs of Manurewa, Manukau and Papakura and the surrounding rural areas, and including Tuakau in the Waikato region. It competes in the Hawke Cup. Its base is in Manurewa, where its home ground is Weymouth Oval.
