Bohara is a village in the district of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab, India. It is a small village which lies between Aur and Nawashahr.

History

The village of Bohara was founded by two brothers Baba Fateh Singh Uppal and Baba Heera Singh Uppal, originally from Bohara's neighbouring village, Mirpur Lakha, over 200 years ago.

There is a Uppal dairy farm which has been announced as Punjab's 3rd largest dairy farm. Within the village there is a gurdwara, post office, shops, school, volleyball ground and a bus stop.

A gurdwara is a place of assembly and worship for Sikhs. People from all faiths, and those who do not profess any faith, are welcomed in Sikh gurdwaras. Each gurdwara has a Darbar Sahib where the current and everlasting guru of the Sikhs, the scripture Guru Granth Sahib, is placed on a takhat in a prominent central position. The raagis recite, sing and explain, the verses from the Guru Granth Sahib, in the presence of the congregation.

Bhumman Shah Udasi saint of India

Baba Bhumman Shah, is counted among the top Udasi saints of India. He was born on April 14, 1687 CE at Behlolpur village, Deepalpur Tehsil, Okara District, Punjab (Pakistan).
