Borlänge HK is a handball club in Borlänge in Sweden, established in 1947. The club won the Swedish women's national championship in 1970, 1973 and 1978. [1] The women's team played 11 seasons in the Swedish top division between 1971–1972 and 1995–1996. [2] and the men's team played in the Swedish top division during the 1984–1985 season. [3] After winning Division 2 during the previous season, the women's team have advanced to Div 1 North [4] as of season 2020–2021. The men's team won div 2 in 2022, and advanced to div 1 North from season 2023–2024.

IFK Malmö Handboll is the handball department of the sports club IFK Malmö. The club's colours are yellow and white. The handball department was founded in 1933. They made their debut in the top division, at the time known as Allsvenskan, in 1942–43, but were relegated after one season. They returned to Allsvenskan in 1945–46, but were relegated again. They were promoted back to Allsvenskan in 1949 and lasted in the league for two seasons before once again being relegated. IFK Malmö returned to Allsvenskan for the 1953–54 season, finishing fourth in the league that season. They finished second in the league in 1956–57, making them Swedish Championship silver medallists. In the following two seasons they finished fourth and third, before being relegated in 1960. IFK Malmö were promoted to Allsvenskan again in 1969 and finished fifth, but were relegated in the following season. They returned to Allsvenskan after one season and reached the play-offs, which had been introduced to determine the Swedish champions, in 1972–73. They were eliminated by IF Saab in the semi-finals. IFK Malmö won the regular season in the following season, but lost against SoIK Hellas in the semi-finals. Two years later they again reached the playoffs, but were once again defeated in the semi-finals. They were relegated in 1976–77. They returned to the top division in 1988–89 and 2003–04, but were immediately relegated both times. IFK Malmö were promoted from the second division in 2007, but after that season the senior team merged with Malmö HP to form a new club named HK Malmö. IFK Malmö has since started a new senior team which in 2018–19 plays in Division 4, the sixth level.
OV Helsingborg HK, is a handball team from Helsingborg, Sweden, which currently plays in Handbollsligan, the top level of Swedish men's handball. The club was founded in 1994 as a merger of Vikingarnas IF and HF Olympia. Vikingarna have been Swedish champions three times. They last played in the top level in 1990. Olympia were less successful, but played two seasons in the top division from 1977 to 1979. OV Helsingborg reached the top division in 2007, 2009 and 2017 but were immediately relegated all three times. In 2019 and 2020 they played in the top division again for two seasons before they were relegated. They once again played the top division 2022/2023, but were relegated.
Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Kristianstad, or IFK Kristianstad, is a Swedish professional handball club based in Kristianstad. They play in Handbollsligan, the top level of Swedish men's handball. The club was founded in 1899 as a multi-sport club. The handball team made its debut in 1925 and has been the only section of the club since 2000. The club plays its home matches at Kristianstad Arena.
Huddinge HK is a handball club in Huddinge in Sweden, established 27 March 1971. The women's team has played in the Swedish top division.
Växjö HF is a handball club in Växjö, Sweden, established 1972 out of Växjö BK. The men's team played three seasons in the Swedish top division during the early 1990s.
SoIK Hellas is a sports club in Stockholm, Sweden, established on 14 May 1899 as Pastorns gossar by Katarina Parish confirmation priest Ernst Klefbeck, before changing name to SoIK Hellas in 1912, also on the initiative of Ernst Klefbeck. Nowadays running bowling, track and field athletics, handball, swimming, orienteering, tennis, and water polo, the club earlier also ran soccer, table tennis, fencing, gymnastics, cross-country skiing, diving, ski orienteering, and squash. The men's water polo team has won Swedish championship titles.
Skara HF is a handball club in Skara, Sweden, established on 8 April 1993 when Hangelösa HF and Stenums IF merged their handball sections. The women's team plays in the Swedish top division since the late 1990s.

Västra Frölunda IF Handball is Västra Frölunda IF's handball section, founded in 1930, the same year the main association was formed. The men's handball section has been successful, with 18 seasons in Elitserien.
IK Heim were a Swedish handball club from Gothenburg, founded in 1923. They have been Swedish champions 7 times. They won the title in 1950, 1955, 1959, 1960 and 1962. They were relegated from the top level in 1965 and did not return until 1974. In 1980, Heim reached the semifinals of the Cup Winners' Cup, where they lost to Spanish club CB Calpisa. They won two more Swedish titles in 1982 and 1983, but were relegated again in 1984. In 2005, the club merged with Mölndal HF to form IK Heim Mölndal and later Mölndal/Heim. Heim Mölndal briefly played in the top division from 2005 to 2007. In 2009, Mölndal HF was re-founded as a separate club and Heim ceased to exist.
Majornas IK is a Swedish sport club from Gothenburg founded in 1916. The club is most famous for its handball team, who have been Swedish champions seven times. Until 1964 they had played all seasons excluding one in the top flight, but have not played there since. They currently play in Division 4, the 6th level.
IFK Karlskrona are a Swedish handball club based in Karlskrona. The club was founded in 1921. They won Allsvenskan in 1944–1945. They reached the final of the Swedish championship, at the time played as a straight knockout tournament, in 1940, 1944 and 1945, but were beaten each time by Majorna. They won Allsvenskan again in 1948–49, but were eliminated in the first round of the Swedish championship by Näsby IF. In 1952, the Swedish championship tournament was discontinued and the Swedish champions title was awarded to the winners of Allsvenskan. The club finished second in Allsvenskan in 1955–56; their fourth Swedish championship silver. They were relegated from Allsvenkan in 1961 and did not return until 1981. In 1983, Karlskrona reached the final of the IHF Cup, where they were defeated by Soviet club ZTR Zaporizhia. They most recently played in the top division, renamed Elitserien, in 1995. They currently play in Division 2, the fourth level.
Upsala Studenters IF is a Swedish sport club from Uppsala founded in 1908. They club has had sections in basketball, table tennis, athletics, fencing, handball, volleyball, bandy and tennis The handball team was promoted to Allsvenskan in 1937. They won the Swedish championship, decided by a straight knockout tournament, in 1939. After that season, they withdrew from Allsvenskan and never returned. They did, however, play in the last edition of the Swedish championship tournament in 1952. In 2012, the handball team merged with HK71 and formed Uppsala HK.
IS Göta are a Swedish sport club from Helsingborg founded in 1898. The club has had sections in athletics, football, bandy, ice hockey, tennis and handball. The handball team was promoted to Allsvenskan in 1965 and won the league in their debut season, earning the title of Swedish champions. They finished third in the following season, but after that their performances declined and they were relegated in 1970. The handball section was discontinued in 1981.
KFUM Borås is a Swedish multi-sport club based in Borås. The club's basketball team, known as Borås Basket, play in the Swedish top division Basketligan in 2017–18. KFUM is a translation of the English language YMCA.
Västerås HF was a Swedish handball club based in Västerås. The club was founded in 1934. In 1942–43, the club made its debut in both the top division, Allsvenskan, and Svenska mästerskapet (SM), the tournament held to determine the Swedish champions. They finished fifth in the league, and reached the SM final, where they were defeated by Majornas IK. In the following season they reached the semifinals in SM, but were again defeated by Majornas IK. They reached the SM quarterfinals in 1945–46, 1946–47 and 1947–48. In 1947–48 they were also relegated from the top division and never returned. They reached the semifinals in SM in 1949–50, where they lost against Örebro SK. Västerås HF reached the SM quarterfinals in 1950–51 and 1951–52, after which the tournament was discontinued and the Swedish champions were determined by the league.
Irsta HF were a Swedish handball club based in Västerås. The club was founded in 1965. They were promoted to the top division, at the time known as Elitserien, in 1989. In their debut season in the top-flight, they finished fourth and qualified for the playoffs. They were eliminated in the semifinals by HK Drott. In the following season, they finished second in the league and defeated Ystads IF in the semifinals. They lost the final series against HK Drott. They participated in the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 1991–92, but were eliminated by RK Crvena zvezda in the round of 16. They continued to play in Elitserien until they were relegated in 1996, but never again reached the playoffs.
Joachim Stenbäcken is a Swedish former handball player who played as a pivot. He was born and raised in Vårgårda and made his senior debut for Vårgårda IK in the 1978–79 season. He later moved to Alingsås HK before signing for top division club IFK Karlskrona in 1982. In his first season with the club they reached the final of the IHF Cup, where they were defeated by Soviet club ZTR Zaporizhia. He scored more than 400 goals in his five seasons for Karlskrona. In 1987 he left the club and joined second division club SoIK Hellas, where he played for two seasons. In 1989 he signed for IFK Kristianstad and helped them to promotion back to the top division in his first season. They were relegated after one season but were promoted again a year later. He left the club in 1995 and signed for league rivals Stavstens IF. He later returned to Hellas before rejoining Kristianstad, who were now playing in lower divisions, in 1998. He continued to play for the club until he retired in 2004. He played 340 matches for Kristianstad and scored 1350 goals for the club, the second most behind Bo Ahlberg. In total he scored 2400 goals in his career.
