Brandon Holt (born April 6, 1998) is an American professional tennis player. Holt has been ranked as high as world No. 180 in singles by the ATP, which he achieved in May 2023. He also attained his career-high doubles ranking of No. 473 in February 2020. He has won 12 singles and doubles titles on the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour.
In 2022, Holt qualified for his first Grand Slam tournament on his first attempt at the US Open and made headlines after upsetting 10th seed and world No. 12 Taylor Fritz in four sets in the first round. [1]
Holt played collegiate tennis for the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2020, where he was named an All-American athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for three consecutive seasons, [2] before turning professional shortly thereafter.
Ranked No. 303, Holt made his Grand Slam debut at the 2022 US Open as a qualifier after defeating Dimitar Kuzmanov in the last round of qualifying. [3] He won his first Grand Slam level match, upsetting 10th seed and world No. 12 Taylor Fritz. [4] This was also Holt's first career win on the ATP Tour and his first top-15 win. [5] He lost in the second round to Pedro Cachín in five sets. [6]
Holt qualified and made his major debut at the 2023 Australian Open, defeating Marco Trungelliti in the last round of qualifying. [7] He defeated fellow qualifier Aleksandar Vukic in five sets, [8] before losing in the second round to 24th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in another match which went five sets. [9]
He qualified for the 2023 Dallas Open but lost to J.J. Wolf in straight sets. [10] Holt made his main draw debut at the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells as a wildcard, losing in straight sets to Thanasi Kokkinakis. [11]
Holt qualified for the 2024 Los Cabos Open but lost to fellow qualifier Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets. [12] Following this result and two Challenger finals, he returned to the top 250 on 16 June 2024. [13] Ranked No. 227, he also qualified for the main draw of the 2024 Cincinnati Open, losing to Arthur Fils in the first round. [14]
Holt is the son of former world No. 1 Tracy Austin, a former WTA World No. 1 and two-time US Open Women's Singles champion. [15]

Roberto Bautista Agut is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 9 by the ATP in singles, achieved on 4 November 2019. Bautista Agut has won twelve ATP singles titles out of twenty three finals, the biggest being the ATP 500 2018 Dubai Tennis Championships. His biggest final has been the 2016 Shanghai Masters, where he lost to Andy Murray. His best result at a major has been at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the semifinals.

Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–4), 7–6(7–5) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Australian Open. It was his record-extending 10th Australian Open title and 22nd major title overall, tying Rafael Nadal for the all-time record of most Grand Slam men's singles titles won. He also became the second man to win double-digit titles at a single major, after Nadal at the French Open. Djokovic lost just one set en route to the title, and extended his match winning-streak at the Australian Open to an Open Era record 28 matches.
Kwon Soon-woo defeated Roberto Bautista Agut in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 7–6(7–4) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Adelaide International 2. It was his second ATP Tour singles title, and he became just the tenth man in ATP Tour history to win a title as a lucky loser.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters. He did not drop a set en route to his third Masters 1000 title and eighth ATP Tour title overall. With the win, he regained the world No. 1 singles ranking from Novak Djokovic, who was unable to enter the United States due to being unvaccinated for COVID-19. Alcaraz also ended the 19-match winning streak of Medvedev, who was the first Russian to contest the final since Andrei Chesnokov in 1992.
Daniil Medvedev defeated Jannik Sinner in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Miami Open. It was his fifth career Masters 1000 title, fourth title of 2023, and 19th career title overall. He became only the ninth man to win five Masters titles.
Andrey Rublev defeated Félix Auger-Aliassime in the final, 4–6, 7–5, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2024 Madrid Open. It was his second Masters 1000 and 16th career ATP Tour singles title. Auger-Aliassime was the first Canadian singles finalist since the tournament's inception in 2002 and the first to reach a Masters 1000 final on clay.
Alexei Popyrin defeated Andrey Rublev in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2024 Canadian Open. It was his first Masters 1000 title and third career ATP Tour title. Popyrin saved three match points en route to the title, in his third-round match against Grigor Dimitrov. He became the first Australian player to win a Masters title since Lleyton Hewitt in 2003 at Indian Wells. Ranked No. 62, Popyrin was the second lowest-ranked men's singles champion at the Canadian Open, after Mikael Pernfors in 1993, and the lowest-ranked finalist since Harel Levy in 2000.
