Brasilsat B3 is a Brazilian communications satellite. It was launched on 4 February 1998 by an Ariane 44LP carrier rocket, as part of a dual-payload launch with Inmarsat-3 F5. It was built by Hughes Aircraft, based on the HS-376 satellite bus. It operates by Star One, a subsidiary of Embratel. [1]
The Brasilsat B3 was launched to meet the great demand of the Brazilian market and to bring satellite communication to some cities in the Amazon Region, which still did not have access to satellite services; these locations were for the first time connected to Brazil and the world. In addition, the B3 unveiled the Brasilsat B2, which has now been used in open or pay-TV broadcasts, telephony services and data transmission.
Brasilsat is the name of a group of Brazilian satellites destined to provide communications via satellites, mainly to Brazil. In February 1998, the Brasilsat B3 satellite was launched, currently located at 92 degrees west longitude, in an inclined orbit where it meets the growing demand for telephony from several operators, mainly in the interior of Brazil. The satellite is one of the pioneers to transmit digital signal, with 100% of the programming being displayed in the new system. Brasilsat B3 coverage is national and the channels that were broadcast by the satellite were mostly free to air.
Brasilsat B3 was the third satellite launched from Brazil's second generation of communications satellites, which are the result of joint engineering and manufacturing efforts in the US and Brazil. The new series of satellites was called "Brasilsat B'. Embratel, a Brazilian telecommunications company, signed a contract in August 1990 for the construction of the first two satellites of the series, Brasilsat B1 and Brasilsat B2. In December 1995, with new satellites in orbit and unable to meet customer demand, Embratel decided to launch a third satellite, Brasilsat B3. The fourth and last satellite of the series, Brasilsat B4, was ordered in June 1998. Brasilsat B3 was operated directly by Embratel until the end of 2000, when Star One, a subsidiary of that company was formed and assigned to manage the former fleet of Embratel satellites.
After the satellite was launched in February 1998, it was placed in the orbital position of 65 degrees west longitude for testing, where it remained until April of the same year when it was moved to 84 degrees west, remained until August 2008, when it was transferred to 75 degrees west and Brasilsat B3 remained in this position in normal geostationary orbit until April 2012, when it was placed in inclined orbit. The satellite was moved to 92 degrees west in January 2013, where it remains currently in inclined orbit.
Its replacement in the orbital position of 75 degrees west to continue with the radio and TV broadcasts was the Star One C3 satellite, which was launched in late 2012, and is covering Brazil and neighboring countries in South America.
EchoStar I is a communications satellite operated by EchoStar. Launched in 1995, it was operated in geostationary orbit at a longitude of 77 degrees west for 12 or 15 years. The company has approved the transfer of the 77 degree west orbital position to QuetzSat as of September 22, 2010.

Star One B4, originally designated Brasilsat B4, is a Brazilian communications satellite which is operated by Star One. It was constructed by the Hughes Space and Communications Company, and is based on the HS-376W satellite bus. It was the penultimate HS-376, and final HS-376W to be launched. Its launch was contracted by Arianespace, using an Ariane 4 44LP-3 carrier rocket. The launch occurred at 23:16 GMT on 17 August 2000, from the ELA-2 launch pad at the Guiana Space Centre. The Nilesat 102 satellite was launched on the same rocket.
TDRS-10, known before launch as TDRS-J, is an American communications satellite which is operated by NASA as part of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System. It was constructed by the Boeing Satellite Development Center, formerly Hughes Space and Communications, and is based on the BSS-601 satellite bus. It was the third and final Advanced TDRS, or second-generation Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, to be launched.

Eutelsat 21B, previously known as Eutelsat W6A, is a French communications satellite. Operated by Eutelsat, it provides direct to home broadcasting services from geostationary orbit at a longitude of 21.5 degrees east. It replaced the Eutelsat 21A spacecraft which was launched in 1999.

For most of its useful life it was located in the orbital position of 70 degrees west longitude and was operated by Star One, a subsidiary company of Embratel. The satellite was based on the platform HS-376 and its life expectancy was 8 years. The same was out of commission in February 2004 and was transferred to the graveyard orbit.
Star One D1 is a communications satellite operated by Embratel Star One with headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was built by Space Systems/Loral (SSL) based on the SSL 1300 satellite bus. The satellite was successfully launched into space on 21 December 2016 at 20:30 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle from the Centre Spatial Guyanais in French Guiana, together with the JCSAT-15. It had a launch mass of 6,340 kg (13,980 lb).

It is located in the orbital position of 32.9 degrees east longitude and it is currently in an inclined orbit. The satellite is owned by Intelsat. The satellite was based on the Loral FS-1300 platform and its estimated useful life was 15 years.
The Geostationary Defense and Strategic Communications Satellite or SGDC is a Brazilian geostationary communication satellite that was built by Thales Alenia Space in France, it was placed in the orbital position of 75 degrees west longitude and will be operated by Telebrás. Telebrás selected Viasat as a partner to help build the associated ground system. The satellite was based on the Spacebus-4000 platform and its life expectancy will be 18 years.
