Bree James is an Australian politician. She was elected member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland for Barron River in the 2024 Queensland state election,defeating sitting Labor MP Craig Crawford. [1]
Bree James was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Barron River in the 2024 Queensland state election,representing the Liberal National Party of Queensland. As an MP,James has focused on supporting her local community,particularly in areas related to early childhood education,small business support,and regional development.
In November 2024,James was appointed as the Assistant Minister for Tourism,Early Learning,Creative Industries and Far North Queensland [2] .
Bree James was born in Coffs Harbour,New South Wales,Australia. She began her entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18,starting her first official business. She moved to Cairns in 2003 and started PakMag [3] in 2007. PakMag,a free parenting and children's magazine,was distributed monthly in Cairns,Townsville,Mackay and online for 13 years. James also founded Grand Publishing,Grand Entertainment and Marketing to Mums prior to moving into politics.
Beyond her ventures,James has contributed to the entrepreneurial community as a mentor to small business owners,offering advice and inspiration to budding entrepreneurs across Australia. She is also an acclaimed travel writer,presenter,author,and podcaster,sharing her insights on entrepreneurship,business,and personal development [4] .
James is married and has two children. She resides in Cairns,Queensland,Australia.
