Football career

After a star career at San Fernando Valley State College, where he led the Matadors to their first winning season and the Junior Rose Bowl in 1967, Lemmerman became a backup quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons in 1968 and 1969. He later played ten years in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos. After his retirement from a playing career in football, Lemmerman became an assistant coach for the Eskimos, the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League and the NFL's Houston Oilers. Later he was hired as director of operations for Edmonton, and then worked for many years as a scout for the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. [1] [2] [3]

Legacy

Lemmerman is the only CSUN quarterback to play in the NFL, and was inducted into the Matadors Hall of Fame in 1981. [4] [5] He holds multiple records at CSUN that were never surpassed, including single game records for most touchdown passes, most touchdowns through rushing, most points scored, and longest punt. He also holds the CSUN season record for most touchdown passes. [6]

Danny McManus American gridiron football player (born 1965)

Danny McManus is a former professional American football and Canadian football quarterback who passed for over 50,000 yards in seventeen seasons in the Canadian Football League and currently serves as the Assistant General Manager and Director for US Scouting for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played every season in the league from 1990 to 2006, as a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, BC Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and finally with the Calgary Stampeders. As of 2007, his all-time CFL passing yardage is third most next to Damon Allen and Anthony Calvillo, and he works as a colour analyst for TSN's CFL broadcasts, having previously appeared as a guest analyst on the CFL on CBC late in his playing career. On December 2, 2013, McManus was named the Assistant General Manager and Director of U.S. Scouting for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Previous to that, he served as the director of scouting for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Tom Wilkinson is an American former professional football quarterback best known for his time with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, where he played on six Grey Cup-winning teams. He was a Western Conference and CFL all-star quarterback in 1974, 1978 and 1979 and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 1974. Wilkinson has been inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

Tracy Ham is an American former professional football quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Edmonton Eskimos, Toronto Argonauts, Baltimore Stallions, and Montreal Alouettes. He was known for his abilities as a dual-threat quarterback. In his college football career with Georgia Southern he became the first quarterback to rush for 3,000 yards and pass for 5,000 yards in a career. Ham is an inductee of both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

Matt Ryan (American football) American football player (born 1985)

Matthew Thomas Ryan is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Boston College, Ryan was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons third overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. Ryan was Boston College's starting quarterback from 2005 to 2007, leading them to three bowl victories and a 25–7 record in 32 starts. He threw for 200 or more yards 15 times and is third all-time in school history in passing yards and in pass completions. He earned MVP of the game honors at the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl.

Scott Stewart Milanovich is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the Edmonton Football Team of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2020, the quarterbacks coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017 to 2019 and the head coach of Toronto Argonauts from 2012 to 2016. Milanovich also served as an assistant coach for the Montreal Alouettes, Cologne Centurions and Rhein Fire.

Samuel Mayorga Garza Jr. is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals. He also was a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at UTEP.
