The plot follows Arjun Prasad (Daggubati) who becomes the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh succeeding his deceased father and his struggle to fight the corruption plaguing the political system.
Rebel is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language action film written and directed by Raghava Lawrence. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Krishnam Raju, Deeksha Seth, Mukesh Rishi, K. C. Shankar, Pradeep Rawat, Ali and Brahmanandam. It was produced by J. The lives of the central characters in the sub-plots get intertwined with each other. The film features an ensemble cast including Kishore, Lakshmi Manchu, Naga Shourya, Aamani, Naresh, Krishnudu, Chaitanya Krishna, Abijeet Duddala, Richa Panai, Chaitanya Krishna, and Krishneswara Rao, while Soumya Bollapragada makes a special appearance.

Ravi Shankar and Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles. It is not a sequel to the film Mungaru Male (2006). The film found its theatrical release worldwide on 9 September 2016, while in Karnataka, the release was pushed to 10 September 2016 because of the Cauvery water dispute. It was a commercial success at the box office by collecting over ₹20 crore in its lifetime theatrical run.

The film features music composed by Sam C. S. and cinematography by Nirav Shah. The film released on 24 August 2018 on the eve of Varalakshmi Vratam and based on the theme of goddess Lakshmi. The film was partially reshot in Telugu under the same title with Satyam Rajesh replacing Karunakaran.
