Cameron Calhoun (born October 2, 2004) is an American college football cornerback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He previously played for the Michigan Wolverines and the Utah Utes.

Early life

Calhoun attended Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was rated as a three-star recruit. [1] He held over 20 NCAA Division I offers, which he trimmed to a final four of Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and West Virginia. [1] [2] Calhoun initially committed to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers, [1] and the Cincinnati Bearcats. [3] [4] After two de-commitments, Calhoun made his final decision to play college football for the Michigan Wolverines. [5]

College career

Michigan

As a freshman in 2023, Calhoun appeared in two games and recorded no statistics for the Michigan Wolverines team that won a national championship that season. [6] After the 2023 regular season, Calhoun entered the NCAA transfer portal and opted out of playing in the postseason. [7]

Utah

Calhoun transferred to play for the Utah Utes. [8] After starter Kenan Johnson went down with a season-ending injury in the 2024 season opener, Calhoun entered the Utes' rotation. [9] In week three, Calhoun got his first collegiate interception in a win over Utah State. [10] On December 10, 2024, Calhoun entered the transfer portal for a second time in as many years. [11]

Alabama

On December 18, 2024, Calhoun announced that he would transfer to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide. [12]

The 2008 Utah Utes football team represented the University of Utah in the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team, coached by 4th year head football coach Kyle Whittingham, plays its home games in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah was one of only two teams in the top-level Division I FBS to finish the regular season undefeated, but after the Broncos were defeated by TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl and Utah won the Sugar Bowl over Alabama, the Utes finished as the nation's only undefeated team. It was the fifth undefeated and untied season in school history. During the 2008-2009 season, Utah defeated 4 teams that were ranked in the AP's final poll: #6 Alabama, #7 TCU, #18 Oregon State, and #25 BYU.
