This is a list of the 42 comarques into which Catalonia is divided. A comarca is a group of municipalities, roughly equivalent to a county in the USA or a district in the UK. However, in the context of Catalonia, the term "county" can be a bit misleading, because in medieval Catalonia, aside from the kings of Aragon, the most important rulers were counts, notably the Counts of Barcelona and of Urgell. Comarques have no particular relation to the "counties" that were ruled by counts.
Valls is a city and municipality in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain. According to the 2014 census it has a population of 24,570.
Sant Pere de Ribes is a town in the center of the Garraf comarca, in Barcelona province, Catalonia, Spain. The remains of a 12th-century castle once ruled by the troubadour Guillem de Ribes are in the town.
Cornudella de Montsant is a municipality in the comarca of the Priorat in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the north-west of the comarca below the Montsant range and the Prades Mountains. The Siurana reservoir is on the territory of the municipality and supplies its drinking water.
Vilafranca del Penedès, or simply Vilafranca, is the capital of the comarca of the Alt Penedès in Catalonia, Spain. The Spanish spelling of the name, Villafranca del Panadés, is no longer in official use since 1982. It is situated in the Penedès Depression on the left bank of the Foix River, and on the main axis of communication from Barcelona to Tarragona and Valencia, served by a Rodalies Barcelona line 4 and by the AP-7 autopista as well as by the C-243 towards Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, and C-15 roads to Vilanova i la Geltrú and Igualada respectively.
Argentona is a municipality in the comarca of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the south-east side of the granite Litoral range, to the north-west of Mataró. The town is both a tourist centre and a notable horticultural centre. A local road links the municipality with Cabrera de Mar and with the main N-II road at Vilassar de Mar.
La Pobla de Lillet is a municipality in the comarca of the Berguedà in Catalonia. It is located in the upper valley of the Llobregat river and is linked to Guardiola de Berguedà by Road B-402.
Seròs is a municipality in the comarca of the Segrià in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the right bank of the Segre river in the south-west of the comarca. The Aragon and Catalonia canal provides irrigation water for growing fruit. The municipality is linked to the rest of the comarca and to Fraga by the C-242 road.
Susqueda is a municipality in the comarca of the Selva in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Guilleries Massif area, on the left bank of the Ter river in the north-west of the comarca. The Susqueda reservoir is on the municipal territory, and the associated hydroelectric power station is an important source of local income. A local road links the municipality with the C-152 road to Santa Coloma de Farners.
Montesquiu is a municipality in the comarca (county) of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the banks of the Ter river in the north of the comarca. It is on the main communication route between Barcelona and Puigcerdà, served by the N-152 road and a station on the RENFE railway line. The thirteenth-century castle is used for cultural events during the summer. Montesquiu became part of Osona in the comarcal revision of 1990. Previously, it formed part of Ripollès.
Deltebre is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Ebre in Catalonia, Spain. It was created in 1977 when the communities of Jesús i Maria and la Cava seceded from the municipality of Tortosa. The municipality occupies much of the northern half of the Ebre Delta, on the left bank of the river. The cultivation of rice and tourism are the major industries. The T-340 road links the municipality with Tortosa and the rest of the comarca, while barges cross the river to Sant Jaume d'Enveja.
Prats de Lluçanès ( is a municipality in the comarca of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the west of the comarca, on a plain between the Lluçanès and Merlès rivers, and is served by the C-154 road between Vic and Gironella.
Viladrau is a municipality in the comarca of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the south-east of the comarca, beneath the massifs of the Guilleries and the Montseny, and is served by the GE-520 road, which links the municipality with the comarca of the Selva and with the N-152 road at Tona. The local mineral water is well known.
Nalec is a municipality in the comarca of the Urgell in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Corb in the south of the comarca.
Avinyonet del Penedès is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Penedès in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the south-east of the comarca, and is served by the N-340 road between Barcelona and Tarragona. The ajuntament is in Les Cabòries. The romanesque Benedictine monastery of Sant Sebastià dels Gorgs has been partially restored.
Montmeló is a municipality in the comarca of Vallès Oriental, within the Barcelona metropolitan area, in Catalonia, Spain. It contains the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which is the home of the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix and the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix.

Lluçà is a municipality in the comarca of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is subdivided into the town of Santa Eulàlia de Puigoriol, and the much smaller village of Lluçà. This village, prominent because of its monastery, gives its name to the surrounding natural comarca of Lluçanès.
